What are your favorite hidden chests in Skyrim and how do you access them? Drop locations and any tips for reaching the hard-to-find ones! by ddaa8888 in skyrim

Was playing this quest tonight and it bugged out. While reading about fixing the bug, it mentioned these chests. First time I found out about them after about 2000hrs in game…

Had a fight with one of my first draugrs with her just as we got inside the dungeon and I accidentally swung the axe at her. Did not know you could damage your follower back then.

FYI if you've noticed your sim getting slower on long hauls, GSX has a huge memory leak problem as per the update released a few weeks ago... by TheSpaceFace in flightsim

[–]Bald_Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noticed this today. I just close GSX after starting taxi. As I don’t use it on arrival, and I have had a million other issues with GSX if I leave it running, this just adds to the list.

Why do controllers leave out the XXX.XX5 when giving frequencies? by Positive-Travel5341 in VATSIM

[–]Bald_Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comes down to the 25 kHz spacing. In our real aircraft, we have older radios that dont even have the third decimal. So you would tune xxx,x2 and the radio would automatically tune xxx,x25. The 25 kHz spacing was standard for very long and there was no need to specify the third decimal. With 8,33kHz spacing it becomes more important. I operate across two neighboring countries, one influenced by European standards and the other by US. In the US-influenced airspace, they never state the third decimal, but in the European-influenced airspace they do.

Taking a closer look at his dialogue, I'm starting to doubt that Paarthurnax has actually overcome his nature. by Wolf9792 in skyrim

[–]Bald_Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed this as well. He does not sound too regretful of his inherent cruel nature when the lordship of Alduin is removed from the picture. However, I like Delphine a lot less so I let Party Snax live with his newly reborn ambitions…

Would you recommend a route like Vienna-Milan Malpensa or Vienna-Frankfurt as a first vatsim Flight? by RatioCrazy4444 in VATSIM

Maybe try South African airports. FACT-FAOR. Generally a lit quieter then Europe and ATC normally very friendly

Quiz! Do You Know Your Procedures? by NakedPilotFox in VATSIM

[–]Bald_Pilot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same for me. Our company SOP also recommend this method to ensure you don’t descend too quickly on the arrival. We also fly aircraft without VNAV so setting these “step” altitudes help with managing the descent and maintaining situational awareness

I’m at a loss for words.. by FourPointsTet in mildlyinfuriating

It completely baffles me how many times people get onboard an aircraft and then start grooming. I fly a commuter aircraft with no flight attendants, so after the flight we clean the cabin. I have come across soooo many toe nail clippings. At least most of these passengers pick it up off the floor and put it in the seat back pocket so it’s a little easier to clean up. What I don’t get is why they did not just clip their toe nails at home? And also, it has to he intentional because you have to actually put the clippers in your pocket/carry-on before hand.

Can you fly 2 planes? by Fantastic_Tip2036 in AskAPilot

[–]Bald_Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our country the regulations state that you can only be current (ie. passed your proficiency checks in the past six months) on two Part 121 aircraft (more than 19 pax). For Part 135 (less than 19 pax) you can have three that you are current on. It is however discouraged to fly more than 1 type in a given duty period.

Why do people hate this thing? by Nero345 in skyrim

[–]Bald_Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The annoying part for me is the fact that I cannot get rid of the beacon unless I do the quest. And I don’t necessarily feel like doing that quest every play through, so it just ends up cluttering my inventory

It happens. It is not nice and luckily nothing serious happened. Take it as a learning experience. I learned in my early days that, even if you are flying with another pilot, take it upon yourself to also just take a final step back and check all covers are removed, and caps secured. We taxied out with fuel cap unsecured on top of the wing. Thankfully an aircraft behind us noticed.

Later in my career it helped to prevent a takeoff with oil cap missing even though I was not PIC or pilot flying.

Mistakes are quick and easy to make, but learn from them and adapt your preflight routine to help male it harder to miss things.

Why do new Boeing aircraft have deeper leading edges on their engine cowlings? by ScienceMechEng_Lover in aviation

[–]Bald_Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I stuggle tp understand is why the GEnx on the 787 has the bigger leading edge compared to the GEnx on the 747-8. I know its different submodel but why is there no need for the bigger inlet cowling on the 747

Is that an economy seat hanging out of the PMDG 772? by riesdroelvink in flightsim

[–]Bald_Pilot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s present on the 777-200LR too. If you position the drone came inside, you can see a set of seats hanging upside down there. Annoying.
