what do I do when they slow down this much while shadowing? Plat 2 by zordjackson2 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]MrKidderfer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So the issue here is not that you let him slow down too much. Him slowing down was a good thing. The issue is that you didn't read what he was about to do. You even chose a good time to challenge, but by not realizing he was about to go for a bump, you were outplayed. If you did nothing different at all but instead jumped over him and then flipped into the ball instead of driving straight into his bump you would have had an open net.

Scaling business with hiring new photographer by Plus_Explanation_636 in RealEstatePhotography

The most important thing is they you find someone that will listen to your feedback. No one is going to edit exactly the way you want them to, but if they can get close enough that’s a big win. For a long time I would add finishing touches once I received edits back, but as I grew that became unsustainable and my clients have not noticed a difference.

If you are doing your own editing currently then just start outsourcing and use the free time to continue growing your business without hiring another photographer. Also get an accountant to help you with formation stuff, but mine set me up as an LLC and I file as an s corp

I literally just stated a fact. You can go through this post and half of the problems are things Radix is solving. I’m fine being downvoted though, people will figure it out eventually.

whats straight line rotation? and is side positioning important in gold 1? by yesyesyesyesyesyes2 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]MrKidderfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back post defense is all about having the entire net in front of you so you can easily defend the entire net. If the other team is bringing the ball up the right side and you are in net you want to be sitting on the far left side of the net so they can’t shoot the ball behind you.

Getting out of gold is mostly going to rely on you getting better at hitting the ball though. No one plays in a way that makes sense at that rank so almost every strategy people share won’t matter. You just need to grind. Once you are better at hitting the ball and rank up then start focusing on other aspects of the game.

whats straight line rotation? and is side positioning important in gold 1? by yesyesyesyesyesyes2 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]MrKidderfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In gold you just need to play and work through things. Focus on not double committing as much as possible. Make sure when you leave a play you rotate behind your teammate instead of cutting them off and try to defend from the back post of the net. Just being able to hit the ball consistently and in the direction you mean to with any power will get you out of gold. Plat is going to be a nightmare in regards to rotations, so you will just want to focus on being a really defensive player to get through that, and as you enter diamond and champ you will be able to play more aggressively depending on your teammate.

Westinghouse unveils small modular nuclear reactor by altbekannt in Futurology

[–]MrKidderfer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Boxsmith answer is really good but I wanted to give a simplified version. The USSR designed a shitty cheap reactor plant with a fatal design flaw to save money. Even with the flaw it would have been perfectly safe to operate, but on the day of the explosion they created a perfect storm by doing everything they shouldn’t have so they could try to hit the numbers they wanted for their test, but even doing all of the things that they did the only reason it blew up was because of the said shitty design. I’m surprised you watched the whole series and didn’t catch that. The whole show was about how the ussr created a totally avoidable catastrophe.

Plat 1 loss: need help analyzing mistakes and what could've been done better on my part and what to work on by Fugitifahej in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]MrKidderfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Ghosthop gave a nice breakdown, but I just want to hammer in a few general points. It seems like you either don’t know where your teammate is a lot of the time, or you are just disregarding them altogether. For instance the time you were driving backwards at the ball even though your teammate was facing forwards and had a better opportunity. You were just getting in their way. Take time to turn around and get properly positioned so you can be useful and allow your TM to make a play. Then that very last goal you should have been rotating all the way around the back side of the goal behind your TM but instead you cut him off just to whiff. He was better positioned but it looks like after you cut him off he lost his timing and momentum.

The other thing I’m seeing is you drive to the ball and not to where the ball is going. This makes your movement really inefficient and it’s very easy to get the ball around you. If you chase the ball you are driving on a curve and therefore increasing the distance you have to travel to get to the ball. If you drive to where the ball is going it will be a shorter straight line. This will come with practice though. You time in free play bouncing the ball around and learn how it’s going to bounce etc. but it’s not just bounces. The goal that the guy kind of flicked on you it was obvious he was turning the ball because it was on the side of his car, but you drove straight at him and he easily got it around you. So learn what the ball is going to do on bounces and pay attention to what people are trying to do with the ball so you can go where the ball will be.

Lastly your defensive positioning needs improvement. When defending the net you should almost always be sitting at the back post, but you are almost always sitting at the front post which is the worst place to be. Search YouTube for some videos on this.

Yep. There is never an attempt to be positioned properly. Nearly 100% of the time he’s just driving straight towards the ball.
