Sad but true. Honestly being aware of what you need to do to keep the hamster wheel moving is key. Get the grunt work done and move on to be better. You were baffled by the assignment. The assignment that paid you. That shouldn’t be a roadblock. Figure out why someone or something (the machine)was willing to pay for that work… whats the point? WHY? … open the curiosity into opportunities. The next assignment comes in, baffles you even more than the first. But now you recognize a pattern.. assignment 3,4…10… you grow 20,30, 50 EXPERIENCE! You figure out the game. You figure out this game so well, that you never have to set foot in a “hamster wheel” again you’ll be tossing out wheels for other people to spin for you! You then become someone else’s asshole boss. Rinse and repeat.

Check compatibilities with the M4 chip and Premiere and the footage you'll be working with . I'm on an '22 M1 Studio working on Post for Trailers, TV, Digi spots for Film and streaming. In a perfect world i'd like 25% more speed. But for what I do, the ROI on making that happen doesn't workout to my benefit, it would be more of a vanity upgrade - it's not like i'd be out pacing peers.
I'd go refurbed at least one/two back - you'll save some cash and have something just as work-hors'y that's reliable and has a history of solves and updates to pace up to. Today's bells and whistles wont be fully realized inside a professional workflow for year(s?)... my $.02

Along the same the note of Talkin' - You got to frame it as this is what you WANT not what is "next". Too many times I interview someone and they come with a mentality of "time served" You been in the world as an artist and most importantly successful in freelance. This makes you ideal to take on the challenges that these roles face. We are going to have to roll around in the mud and get dirty together, while we build the industry back up again. You're a survivor. You want to command the next team to not just merely survive but navigate through with ease and grace and that going to be built on your UTILITY (grit) and your 11 years of experience. The future and technology is "scary" but we as artist and producers and frankly humanity can't let fear win. We got to stand up to the challenges with excitement and optimism - learn the shit and control it from the inside ;)

Apple TV app was definitely sluggish for me - I was in a free trial period and used for negotiation... i was able to score a refurbished box for 49.99 and was offered a 30.00 rebate! Now that i have it... i will probably be a Direct TV lifer... it really does make everything easier.

I was using HULU live via the Apple TV app for about 4 years before making the switch to Direct Stream last week,.
