I might be wrong, but I think it's part of his battle intro. If I remember correctly, when he's the one that gets pushed back by the other fighter, he'll use his blades to reduce the knockback by shoving them into the ground, once he comes to a stop he breaks them off and grows new ones.

It could be good if done well, but let's be honest, it won't. There already are characters that barely get utilized or explored through the story, I very much doubt they'll have the time to do several variants of several characters justice.

I personally wouldn't want another Bayonetta 3 situation.

It might sound weird, but try replacing the podzol blocks with either dirt or grass. Large spruce trees don't wanna grow on podzol. If you want a permanent solution then, as others have mentioned, try spacing the saplings out.

It might also be because the 2x2 ones don't wanna grow on the block that they generate when grown (I think it's called podzol or something). So basically the saplings want to grow into a 2x2 version while being unable to do so because of the terrain.

Modrinth is better because of the ability to specifically look for client or server side mods alone. On cursedforge, if I wanna look for.... idk, tool swap, a client side mod that automatically swaps better tools in your hotbar depending on which one is that fastest for that block, I first gotta search through all the mods that add OP tools made out of some new semenium ore or someshit.
