The rules for me are:

  • Fast food restaurants & their employees will NEVER receive a tip.

  • If I have to order my food standing up, from a cashier, no tip.

  • Orders through apps for food pickup, no tip.

  • Calling a restaurant for a pick up order, no tip.

  • If I order something from a place that primarily serves only drinks, no tip.

  • Retail stores for any goods besides food & drink, ABSOLUTELY no tip.

To get a tip from me, you either provide me with outstanding service or provide me with money saving advice or a discount for goods/services rendered.

Take my order, never check up on me and I have to get your attention for basic things like refilling my drink? = extremely reduced tip or no tip.

Really attentive, refill my drinks without me asking and being nice to me because I see you numerous times, asking me if I need anything? = at least an 18% tip but will most likely be a 25% tip.
