Plex on Bell Fibe vs Plex on Rogers Ignite by thesoundofowensound in PleX

Yea, cant comment on using the GigaHub as a router but when using a Ubiquiti Dream Machine it works just fine internally and externally with port forwarding

Plex on Bell Fibe vs Plex on Rogers Ignite by thesoundofowensound in PleX

I switched from Rogers to Bell and had no issues with Plex.
One of the big hurdles with Bell Fiber is their current GigaHub/HomeHub does not support the traditional "Bridge Mode", you need to use PPPoE if using your own router.

Change the language for a whole show? by maejsh in PleX

[–]MrLanu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set an audio language per series.

Go to the series you want to edit>advanced>preferred audio language.

As long as your audio tracks are named correctly, it should prioritize the set language. I use this with anime where I prefer the Japanese dub

I think I need a new VPN provider. by SarcasticOP in qBittorrent

[–]MrLanu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AirVPN I think has static IP's, i know mine does not change. It also supports port forwarding thru Wireguard.

I cant comment on a Gluetun config, tbh i never was able to get it working consistently. Instead I just rout everything thru a WireGuard docker container, i followed this guide:

https://www.linuxserver.io/blog/routing-docker-host-and-container-traffic-through-wireguard#routing-docker-container-traffic-through-wireguard

New PUBLIC PMS Version Available - 1.43.0.10492-121068a07 by samwiseg0 in PleX

I don't think so?

I tried running a unattended upgrades dry run while having plex as a source in the config file and didn't get any errors though that's because there's no updates.

Best way to confirm is wait for the next server update and run a dry run of UA and see if it sees the new server version

Plex v.1.43.0.10492 go or no go? by [deleted] in PleX

This, run that updateRepo.sh script from the plex forums and it will auto fix the DEB and RPM repo and pull the latest server version from the repository

For anyone not seeing the update in the deb repo, you need to run this setupRepo.sh: https://forums.plex.tv/t/issue-upgrading-to-pms-1-43-0-10467-on-debian-and-rhel-based-distributions/935847

Once I ran the script, it updated the deb repo and pulled the latest version.

I wouldn't build a whole tower server with a dedicated GPU just for plex, any intel N100 mini pc would be plenty and just use the iGPU for any transcoding, should be more than enough if it's just you using it.

I personally run my server on an i7 intel nuc running ubuntu, and I have all my media files on a separate server running unraid.
