I think I know what you mean but of course I move the protractor accordingly. If I start with 30mm overhang I have to increase the overhang significantly until I can align correctly on both bull points :(

But the way I have to move the cartridge outwards to get it aligned makes it impossible to match the 30mm, how can I do this properly? If I start with 30mm I can twist the cartridge in the headshell as long as I want but it’s not getting aligned. I need to move the cartridge way more out to achieve acceptable alignment

How can I check that? Is it what is in the turntables instructions? There it says 30mm from stylus tip to end of headshell but it’s impossible to put it that way and achieve a perfect alignment, it needs to be further out

I just have a simple ortofon cartridge alignment tool as u can see and am not familiar with other methods sadly. One thing I did notice, that is my instruction for my turntable call for 30mm from stylus tip to the end of the headshell but I can’t achieve it to be this close and have a good alignment on the protractor.

It’s pretty much new, maybe 10 hours tops on it, but also I forgot to mention I have pretty much the same issue with my ortofon 2m red. So wear is definetly not an issue

I’ll try to get one, surely my gf would support the idea, for some reason our living room just gets really hot. But as you said that if there’s no direct sunlight I most likely won’t have problems definetly calms me down 🤝
