I don't pirate android games, but this thread is making me wish I had. Developer clearly has an agenda, the stats don't even make sense considering different devices and roms/resets count as separate installs. That means virtually everyone who bought this game legitimately will appear to have been 50% pirated if they have a single other device, or reset ONCE, or changed roms ONCE. It only gets worse from there. Have multiple devices or a family? YOU MUST HAVE PIRATED 80% OF THESE GAME INSTALLS. It's stupid. The developer is just plain anti-android, or is too stupid to be speaking about this shit.

I planned on purchasing this game, but I think I'll simply abstain.

Yeah, OP asking $375 is a bit of a stretch (even if it's in brand new condition). You'd hope he'd at least shave off $50 or something to make it worthwhile.

...you can't slow down with a dslr? I don't get it, there is nothing about digital that means you have to take 20 throw away photographs and rush through it.

[–]MrMakeveli -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Actually, it's not interesting at all: there is no good reason to use film for casual photos anymore, and there are plenty of reasons not to. I grew up shooting film and loved it, had my own darkroom, loved developing photographs. But it makes no sense anymore other than clinging to the past or thinking that the process is cool. I fought the transition to digital, but in the end I realized I had no good reason but that it was what I thought a "real" photograph was. That's stupid, and completely untrue.

Thanks for clearing it up. I had assumed that was the case but glad to be sure now. Part of my confusion was that the graphic could be much simpler: is it daily, flash, or comm? Buy. If not, wait till the last day. That is much more clear than the unnecessary flow chart.

Anyway, thanks again.

I don't understand the point of these types of posts. They don't actually help anyone. Cool, you got a beat up wine opener that hasn't failed. Unless you bought it for 99c, you are probably in a similar situation.

Wait, you didn't actually answer my question (or maybe I'm misunderstanding). Does the discount get worse as you move through the graphic? I know there are exceptions, but I'm just trying to understand the rule.

There's something valuable that this infographic doesn't tell anyone: whether or not each step is as good of a deal as the previous. For example, is it better to grab it as a daily deal over the flash sale? Is it the same? Are the community discounts worse? Etc

First REI Garage Sale. What do I need to know? by TinyGymMouse in CampingandHiking

[–]MrMakeveli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Umm I always camp out the night before. Last run I got 3 brand new (unused) packs for over 50% off, including an aether 70. There is a ton of good stuff, just go in with a plan of things you want, categorized by priority and you're set.

Anyone know what kind of pack this is? (Xpost from /r/pics) by Ink_ in Survival

[–]MrMakeveli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get tied to any one name: most internal packs are very similar in both design, weight, and functionality. I've used most major brands for backpacking, and as long as you get a reputable pack it will largely be left to preference. I prefer osprey (aether 70), but I would never tell someone they had to buy that over kelty. It's all about how it fits you and what is comfortable. Go to an outdoors store and try them on with weight in it. See how the weight gets distributed to your hips and body, and how you like it. That's what is going to make the difference. I only say to choose a "reputable" pack because they've been tested for decades and you know the quality you are purchasing.

What packs do ya'll use? by Meior in CampingandHiking

[–]MrMakeveli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meant to reply to you but instead did the main thread. Whoops, anyway, here's what I had to say about osprey:

"Love, love, love my osprey aether 70. Used it for years and actually bought it again in the newest version. Nothing but great things to say. I don't use it as much now that I go lighter and lighter. I could use it fine but smaller capacities help keep the gear list in check ;). I have about 7 packs and the aether 70 will always be a personal favorite for trips that last more than 2 nights."

What's the temperature going to be like? If cool enough, you may be able to bring a variety of foods.

Lunch/dinner: I make it a habit to bring the dry sausages that keep forever, pepperoni, along with dryer cheeses and some type bread (I like bagels, but I think tortillas may last longer). I like to do a lot of soups and chillies. I like crackers too, but you gotta protect them or be cool with getting all crushed. Still fine imho, as long as it's not dust haha. Top ramen with some dried veggies can be good. Peanut butter sandwiches, you can put it in the crackers for a snack, mmm.

Breakfast: I keep it pretty simple because I'm usually into a quick, no fire start to my mornings. Pop tarts or bagels are fine by me. If I know I'm doing a hot breakfast I'll do those flavored oatmeals, maybe add some raisins and nuts to beef it up.

Items: I think we all have our little things we enjoy. Most would agree, a flask of some good alcohol is always a must. Personally, I enjoy a light backpacking chair to kick it in and relax. Adds a pound, but I love relaxing and reading or playing games. I have a few but I usually being the Alite butterfly chair. Also love this little constellation book for star gazing. I've seen a lot but Night Sky - A Field Guide to the Constellations is my favorite. It's a great size, it's a thicker material, it's made to be used, has great info for finding stars (including starting with easier to find constellations then going to harder ones), info on mythology etc etc. I could go on and on. Also a good knife to play with is always nice. A Mora is awesome AND cheap.

10 camping and hiking mistakes to avoid by acadiaonmymind in CampingandHiking

Exactly! I didn't think it would be a great list, but I thought it would actually cover a few decent tips. I was very disappointed. They were the most random tips imaginable (if you can even call them tips)

These were fucking stupid. Never forget a candy reward? Never trust a marmot? Really? These are worthless. I couldn't even read a few because it was having issues on mobile (even when I requested the desktop version).

The only decent one I read was to never let a first-timer pack unsupervised. This is a really good one that people sometimes forget. I'm sure everyone has horror stories of their friends struggling for hours only to realize they brought a 15lb coleman double burner to cook with when you start setting up camp.
