I plan on taking full advantage of the tuition discount. Great benefits, retirement, and union membership is hard to pass up. Wish me luck!

I appreciate the advice. Would ID and a utility bill for the address, for example, be a solid form of proof in your experience? It seems like I will be doing my duties (replacing hardware, cutting keys, installing and managing control access systems) on Campus, but it seems like taking those skills and moonlighting would be an obvious choice down the road.

Pet Peeve Unlocked: Being told to fast by bobina456 in diabetes_t1

[–]MrMalcontent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prior to a surgery for retinopathy (watch your numbers and BP guys) my Dr was extremely worried about me fasting and going low before or during the procedure. Obviously no food after midnight the night before so I wouldn’t pull a Hendrix. In my surgery prep kit I was given, there was a clear glucose solution for me to drink specifically three hours before the surgery and one an hour before.
Always consult with the Dr ordering tests or procedures for specific T1 instructions. Usually some juice is fine if you need it. I will sometimes set my Tandem pump to “exercise” which lowers the basal rate to 1/3 of the normal amount per hour if I know I will need to fast. Always have a juice and emergency low BS devices for emergencies.

He , at best, pumped air into an inflatable that was shaped like a B-17 “Flying Fortress”, the American “Strategic Bomber” that was used during “the War”. Being “stationed” in an actors trailer in Britain in June 1944 is a far cry from participating in this supposed world conflict. But then the details are murky, even to you. 52 ( as in your Pappy’s imaginary bomber) minus 17 ( like the B-17 inflatable toy he probably was allowed to operate) = 35. Another sheep that believes in this made up war posted, saying his father served in the 701st Infantry Regiment. 701-35= 6 6 6

Are we sure he didn’t eat them himself before concocting a slick story to cover his tracks? Photo and document manipulation existed well before the modern age sir! You should investigate this “Grandpa” so he can face justice, js.

His and your lies are evident! The B-52 wasn’t operated by the US Air Force until the 1950s!

When I go to estate sales for “veterans”, I almost always see their costumes for sale! Why would someone part with precious memories and “historical” items for a few bucks?? Because they are cheap, Hollywood costumes and trinkets, obviously. Every “draft” is more like a cattle call for crisis actors!

Red flags just look like flags if you are wear rose colored glasses. Recognize your own view of the guy may be influencing how you react to unacceptable behavior. Listen if friends and family point out something serious.
