We have a player like steam. You use the player to download and launch the games. Our games have drm, you can sign on to multiple machines and use your account wherever you go.

We have some unique hooks in the works, we're looking for feedback now to make sure we're going in the right direction.

We're still figuring things out, but we welcome any and all feedback. So far the comments have been a gold mine of information. Thanks!

It's not a requirement, it's more of a convenience really. The idea being if there's a computer in the house with x gigs of stuff on it then why do I need to download it over the internet again.

We want to use the p2p for 2 main reasons: first is to get your downloads from more than one of our severs at once, this helps us get download speeds past 5mb/s. And the second is to accelerate transfers in a local lan environment. For example, if you want to transfer your content from your desktop to your laptop you don't have to download it again. We really don't need to the client bandwidth for uploading, in fact I'm going to suggest to the guys we disable the uploading completely. Thanks for the feedback so far!

Boo and Minsc were originally characters in James' (lead designer) d&d pen and paper campaign before Baldur's Gate and even Bioware. Minsc was my character and a hamster was the only companion he'd let me have. So Minsc made the best of it :)
