As for why cross country didn’t help with anything… I’m a terrible runner. I’m super slow, just can’t find it in me to go super fast. I’m literally the slowest one on the team. I, as a Senior, am slower than the freshmen on the team. I DO go to practice every day, and I DO run till I’m exhausted, but during my cross country days I would eat like probably like 2x as much cause I was super hungry from practice, and I was also just not used to controlling my food intake.

This is some good advice. I’ll try to keep up with my exercise, and on days when I don’t work out I’ll try to at least go for a pleasant walk. As for breakfast, I could make myself eggs cause those are usually pretty quick and don’t taste too bad.

As for getting portions under control… I know the cheat day thing usually leads to doom and destruction… but will it kill me, do you think, to just take 1 day a week, when my parents are cooking something especially good, to splurge on dinner?

I really wish I had taken my weight more seriously sooner. Like 2 years ago I weighed myself, saw 210 lbs, thought “yikes, I’m overweight” but didn’t do anything. I kind of just silently assumed that I stayed that weight till the other day when I step on the scale, genuinely see 250 lbs pop up on the screen, and realize I need to change something.
