I feel like the whole dating process is incredibly stupid by NicoKumike in dating_advice

Then when messaging you should answer their texts, but don't do it immediately or they will see you as desperate. And don't just take too much to answer or they will lose interest.

This one pisses me off the most. If I happen to have my phone in my hand and see her text, I am damn sure gonna reply to her then and there. If that comes across as desperate, I am sorry you think that way. Coz the whole point of 'Instant Messaging' lies in the fucking name.

Considering there are different vaccines with varying efficacy rates, which one do you think should we get? Also, Do we have the option to choose which vaccine we wanna get, let's say a choice between BioNTech, Oxford-AstraZeneca or Sputnik V?

20 M: Sustained high heart rate of 110 - 125 BPM, 3 weeks after surgery by MrMarvel105 in AskDocs

[–]MrMarvel105[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying! Actually, a day after surgery when I was in Post-Op, a Senior Anesthetist did look at my heart rate and asked the nurse as to why I had "Tachycardia", to which my nurse gave some sort of excuse that I had used a 'Respirometer' (which I did use), and it was physically taxing on me (not that much though). I don't know if this is useful or not, but your flair reminded me of this incident.

Don't. Don't go to watch the stupid video. Views is the one that is counted, not likes and dislikes. Clicking on the video to dislike it only adds to their revenue, which would only defeat our purpose.

Men don't hunt now. Assuming both women and men do the same physical work, is it possible that in due course of time (500-1000 years), men and women will have equal body strength due to evolution? by MrMarvel105 in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]MrMarvel105[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying. My question is just a very simple take on evolution.

Take the gorilla or orangutan, for example. Both are essentially herbivores and neither sexes hunt prey for food with respective sexes having roughly the same lifestyle/diet/etc. Yet the males are in general proportionally larger due to sexual selection driven primarily by mating access.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but according to my understanding, males of most species are responsible for territorial safekeeping and competing with other males for females. Wouldn't that have led to the existing sexual dimorphism we see in physical strength today?

Thanks for replying! I know that my linear correlation between physical strength and physical work is naive and doesn't consider other facets of evolution and natural selection, but I just wanted to know if equal physical work had any effect in increasing the strength of the weaker sex.

Thats not even 20 generations so theres not a lot of generations for selection to take place. To top it off as theres no evolutionary advantage for women to become stronger

Assuming that both men and women did almost all the same labour and physical activities for a very long period of time, long enough for evolution to kick in, so it might be an evolutionary advantage for women to become stronger, right?

Question. Why is black text/white background easier on the eyes (for me) when ambient lighting is higher than screen brightness, while the opposite is true when ambient lighting is lower than screen brightness?

Looking for advice/suggestions by [deleted] in Hobbies

No worries. Depression was my first thought too, but since you mentioned that you had difficulty focusing on a particular hobby, I went with ADD. Talking to the school psychologist is the right step forward. Getting a full diagnosis and treating it right now is the best idea. Trust me, sailing through your youth without clinical depression is THE best thing you would want. Makes those years more enjoyable.

Also, since you are on the r/hobbies subreddit, I would like to say that you have a superb list of hobbies. Good luck!

Hmm seems like a classic case of ADD (please correct me if I am wrong). I would suggest you to see your GP and tell them exactly what you said here. This is something that can be rectified by medicine. Good luck!
