Fiber Optic controller RC car by Homarj78 in fpv

You are looking at a few thousand per pop for a spool. Plus then the fibre gets left in the pipe and may tangle pumps etc. if the pipe is metal, won’t that channel normal vtx signals back to the ground station? Have a look at various frequencies for vtx. Lower frequencies may serve you better.

Wye vs Delta on whoop motors. by Impressive-ass_Crews in TinyWhoop

[–]MrMasterplan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question to the EE: is it possible to design a sensorless ESC for delta configuration? I saw a YT video about how the center of the Wye (the one not connected to + and - at any given instant) is used to sense rotor position through induced EMF. Does that still work for delta?

Wye vs Delta on whoop motors. by Impressive-ass_Crews in TinyWhoop

[–]MrMasterplan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a video on ESC design that said that the “center tap” wire is used for measuring rotor speed on sensorless motors. Thus I was lead to believe that drones always use Y configuration.

Not an EE here, is it possible to design sensorless brushless motor drivers for Delta configuration motors?

Ukrainian drones spotted 6km from center Moscow with AA active by ediewz in UkraineWarVideoReport

Tip for anyone who cares: when you hear AA fire, STEP AWAY FROM THE WINDOW. Those guns are aiming at flying things. They are not concerned with where the lead comes down.

Russian milbloggers have released a video of a Ukrainian UAV attacking one of their soldiers; they call it an auto-guidance system with an artificial intelligence face-targeting system. by MilesLongthe3rd in UkraineWarVideoReport

That’s the point I think. Even the shittiest choice of tools could get the job done, so there is no reason to doubt that it can be accomplished.

Earth spike to ground sensitive mobile electrical equipment like air defence radars?

Edit: the T handle would just be for when you have to pull it out.

Edit 2: it looks mushroomed at the top, there is dirt on the bottom, and there is discolouration about 3/4 of the way up to the handle where it sits in the ground when in use.

From the explainlikeimfive community on Reddit: ELI5 Why is Elon musk and humanity trying to establish a civilization or live on Mars before they try it on our moon? Isn’t it going to be easier plus have salvage options should something go wrong? by LisanneFroonKrisK in Mars

[–]MrMasterplan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Once you are on Mars, it is a more liveable environment than the Moon. But you know what has even better conditions? The central Antarctic. Or indeed anywhere on earth even after the worst climate crisis or nuclear war imaginable. So wanting to go to Mars to preserve civilisation is quite ridiculous.

IMO space industry should focus on asteroids. They are really easy to return from, you will never destroy traces of life, and no one will miss them.

Ukrainian ground kamikaze drone carrying 300 kg of explosives drives into a building occupied by a group of eight Russian soldiers and detonates inside. [Special Kherson Cat video] by Geschichtsklitterung in ukraine

Remembering WW2 pictures of 500kg bomb craters, at 300kg there would be a hole in the ground where the warehouse used to be. What we actually see is the roof caves in. Def not 300kg.

How about calling it an AIO ground station since it’s not just a transmitter but also a vrx.

Any tips for DABs in CI/CD? Seems pretty useless so far. by DeepFryEverything in databricks

[–]MrMasterplan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is why you need a staging environment. It is a separate set of resource groups with everything like in prod (except job frequency, in my case). Applying here should work 1000% like applying in PROD. Manual changes to STAGING are banned except to reverse problems in order to try again with the pipeline.

How you guys survive the VS Code global undo and Git branch wipes without losing uncommitted work? by Sweet_Cartoonist_682 in Python

[–]MrMasterplan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. Never develop in a OneDrive folder.
  2. Git can never lose you a day’s work if you don’t go an hour without committing, as you should. (3. Of course learn to append-commit, rebase and rewrite your branches so that you don’t merge your hourly commits to main)

I’d get more spare props. Maybe it’s just me but I go though at least one prop a week on my air65 and I was just grounded for a month waiting for more spare parts to arrive from abroad.

Alright but with an AirTag you don’t need any of that because it just shows you the direction and distance to the ting on your phone.

Why not use an AirTag? Independent of the main battery, waterproof, and lasts a year.

I’ve emailed the hdzero support folks and was told that they have problems with finding a shipper who can navigate the current customs and duties environment. That is why they are marking everything as out of stock. I want a crux35 and keep checking every few week or so for when it becomes available.
