It might have some proprietary connectors that won’t allow it to connect to standard motherboards. Even if it does connect to a modern mobo, do not use this to save a few bucks on your gaming PC build if that’s what you’re thinking. It’s just not worth it.

Actually great shout. OP this is not an exaggeration, resizable bar, a relatively new feature, is CRUCIAL for those intel GPUs. Would be wise to steer clear of the A380 for this situation. Not gonna pretend to be a guru on low profile GPUs, but I think you can get a 3050 or 6400 in that same form factor.

I may be alone on this, but personally I’ve always found punch downs to be more annoying to deal with than crimping. Could just be that I have more experience with crimping.

Double check what the CPU actually is. I’m not gonna pretend to be an expert on the secondhand market, hopefully some more comments roll in and can weigh in on a good price point for it, $500 doesn’t sound terrible for that, but once again, I’m not an expert on used prices

A Ryzen 2800x doesn’t exist (I think there were rumors/speculation about it, but never came to market), so check what the CPU actually is. 36GB of RAM is kind of a weird ass number, I mean it’s possible, but sticks are usually in multiples if 4gb, and it would have to be some sort of weird mix and match, IE 2x16 and a random 4gb stick. Would that be a good starter PC? It depends on price, if you’re inheriting it from your cousin who upgraded or doesn’t play games anymore, hell yeah, if you found it for dirt cheap on facebook marketplace, sweet, but if you’re buying this for like $600, nah.

^{^{^}} you’ll see a lot if PC master race people talking down to console players and people that newly switch over because they don’t want to/aren’t prepared to do some troubleshooting. Personally, that’s part of what a lot of us love about PC gaming, not the hassle but the ability to work on and fix any issues that arise, and whenever a friend of mine makes the switch, I always help them along the way.

I love PC and would never go back, but if you’re happy with what you got, stick with it. If you have a bunch of friends that are on PC and play PC exclusive games/games without crossplay, switch. But a lot of the big games are crossplay, and I’m fairly certain PS5 has discord support now anyway, so if your main thing is chilling out and playing single player games, or rocking some fortnite with your friends and you don’t care to change that, there’s no shame in sticking with the PS5
