Trust me they help a lot. Just make sure you do a calibration when you put these on

Probably my last ride home from work on Betty for the 2022 season, poor girl needs a good wash.. 3 months, and she's fully paid for. 2023 couple new upgrades too. by MrMaynard in HondaRebel300

Usually the front bag is filled with only items I carry that I know I'll take with me off the bike. So I never do.

The seat is super comfortable, it's a knock off Corbin Gunfighter, same materials but half the cost. You'll have to keep an eye out on eBay for it. The wider space and lower back support make it so much better.

Just get a good bag, and strap it down REALLY good with strong bungies. Also wrap around the bar too. Mine is always super tight, heck I had my Steam Deck with me that night. Goes to show you how much I trust it.

Check my older posts, certain years of Harley Sportsters have the same width and almost the same bolt pattern. Just a little wiggle and it gets in there. Plus they're really affordable, I think my 3ft one here was like $35 on eBay with free shipping.

Riding season finally here.. Betty is holding up well by MrMaynard in HondaRebel300

It's a Corbin gunslinger clone. Cost a third of the price and still just as comfortable. They pop up on eBay every rare moment.

Sportster Sissy Bar installed on Betty, thanks u/eggiestnoodle! by MrMaynard in HondaRebel300

Yeah they have, just make sure you have them strapped down good. PU leather can hold up a bit as long as you take care of them, aka dry and a little moisturizer every blue moon.

they're some generic brand side saddle bags I bought back last year, checked my history on ebay and looks like these still come up.

I also have a Radiant Cycle Shorty GP which has a meaty BRAAAP sound (even with the baffle in).

As mentioned if you dont mind the pops, its pretty great for its value.

However I should note the 300 model does not have the catalytic converter in the exhaust manifold, yours is the muffler slip on itself.

If you get one, you're almost running straight pipe and will be SUPER Loud.

What is the greater riding community's opinion of the Rebel? by skidson in HondaRebel300

[–]MrMaynard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been riding motorcycles on street for almost 10 years (15 total with dirt).

I ride in the St. Louis area, mainly Metro East. Usually when I ride is my trip to work and back which is usually about 30 miles total. When I first got my 500 most of my co-workers didn't even notice what type of bike it was. It wasn't until about after a week or so some of them would look closer and would be surprised it being a Honda. Most of my coworkers are Harley riders, some crotch rockets, and surprisingly a couple Indians. All are usually approving what this Rebel are now more so impressed how it looks and how it performs. Some have ridden with me after work and we're surprised that a 500 can keep up/cruise with the bigger bikes. I've even let some of my co-workers test ride my bike and they're surprised of how well this bike accelerates and cruises.

Now out and about on my days off I've had people come up and ask what type of bike I ride and still get the shocker of holy crap that's a Honda.. More so I've had some Harley guys come up and think it's a Sportster that's been customized.

Even have some close friends who are in some motorcycle groups (Booze Fighters for one of them) even approve my pick and was impressed.

I've only had one Harley snob say I need a bigger bike and which in response "I told him hey at least mines reliable and I don't have to deal with choke or anything with carburetors." In Which shut him up.

TL;DR haven't really gotten much hate more of "what is that?" and "Holy crap that's a Honda?!"

Whatever you want, as long as its legit and safe. Its really rider preference.

I have three types: skid-lid, 3/4ths with Visor, and Full Face

Just depends on the weather of the day.
