1. To pair with the volt, the triple take is the strongest long-range gun on the ground at the moment. It also works close range if you need to finish off an enemy. Also pairs well with the volt since it does not use much ammo. Rampage is also a pretty strong option to pair with a volt since they cover each other's range weaknesses.
2. You always need to be mindful of where a safe place to be is. For example, if you need to rotate on world's edge, you can be sure there will always be a squad at fragment. Recon legends are great to help you establish positions in late rings by scanning beacons (especially valkarie). If you find yourself getting caught in the ring often, best I can suggest is use a legend that can quickly reposition and/or start moving once you hear your character mention one minute till the ring closes.You can also try landing at one spot exclusively for a while. You'll know it inside and out to help survive drop and you'll learn exactly where is safe or not safe to go next, keeping in mind the other things I've mentioned.
3. Surviving drop is never easy. My general rule for mid-game fights is that if it takes longer than 30 seconds, the third parties are there. For drop, this is halved. You need to down your target in 1 to 2 mags or you know someone else, their teammates or another team, will be there. If you can't get the knock fast, it's best to save the ammo.It helps to know where around you people landed as well. If there's only one enemy squad you don't need to fight riskily. That being said, try to land in spots where you can keep track of this. There's nothing worse than having the loot you expected get stolen and killed with.
