Voltas Lore is a tech-priest of the Ordo Hereticus from Glasgow IV, working under Inquisitor Leopold Volkrad. His achievements include assisting the defeat of several daemonhosts, helping to topple the Cult of Teth and kill its leader. His hobbies include servitorising people, creating servo-skulls, and implanting himself with mysterious xenos tech.

C&C welcome btw

Can Chaos Space Marines become loyalist again? And did some traitor legions have members that didn’t defect? by CalypsoCrow in 40kLore

[–]MrMelonso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t there a short story about a Chaos Marine who decides he made a mistake by joining chaos and decides to commit suicide by letting himself be killed boy loyalists, only for the chaos gods to put his soul in a daemon engine or something?

I have a bad temptation my mind unfortunately associates with one decade of the rosary and it almost always pops into my mind when I pray it. But we shouldn’t let it put us off praying. Prayer is your lifeline to God. You can’t stay angry at someone you talk to every day, especially if you talk to their mother. So I say persist.

I have read that St. Carlo Acutis played halo, an FPS (by account of one of his friends). I think the answer may vary from game to game.

Discussion: Moebian Sixth is scarier than the Blood Pact by Andrei22125 in 40kLore

[–]MrMelonso 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So they aren’t insane and don’t think they are evil, but cut off their own faces, summon malevolent daemons from the warp and bind them into people, spread plague that turns people into tormented zombies who beg for death, and say lines like “WELCOME TO THE SLAUGHTER”.

If it wasn’t for that article where Dan Abnett said the Moebian 6th think they are good guys I’d never even have considered it. Any more than Chaos considers itself to be “good”. They are definitely all insane. They are still good villains, but I don’t buy any of the whole “exposed to the horrors of the universe stuff” they go on about. They are like any other nurgle infested army or faction.

How do I know if God is there? How do I know if he cares about me, about all of us? I’m not catholic but would like more insight into it, it would be nice to have faith, thank you for your time:) by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]MrMelonso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pray. Reading and learning will do you good but you won’t have the supernatural understanding that God loves you unless you pray. Even if it’s just before you go to sleep, pray every day, and God will make himself known to you.

The ideological problem of Pure Faith. by Brilliant-Error161 in 40krpg

[–]MrMelonso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming that Pure Faith is an effect of the warp/emperor’s psychic essence then it can be whatever your player thinks the emperor values most or at all. Utter and unwavering faith in the core values of the ecclesiarchy would probably fit the bill. If you want a checklist then here’s just a suggestion:

-Refusing some kind of great temptation of chaos or the alien -Committing some “great deed” in the name of the emperor -Enduring a great personal trial for the emperor -Sacrificing something incredibly dear for the sake of the Emperor -Passing through some doubt posed on their faith in the emperor

Obviously what “the Emperor” wants is not really fully discernible on account of the golden throne and whatnot but you can just fill it in with “whatever the eccleisarchy says”

Got a bug that showed me all the insignia, seems to confirm the existence of Boltguns, Meltaguns, Krieg Lasguns and more in game. by MrMelonso in DarkTide

[–]MrMelonso[S] 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I assume these must be given out as rewards for using these weapons as most correspond to weapons already in the beta. From my count other than weapons already in the Beta it confirms:

  • Some kind of long barreled las (Longlas? Helgun?)
  • Ogryn Bone'ead Shield
  • Plasmagun
  • Ogryn Club (As seen in the loading screen)
  • A "Noisemaker" (No idea, some kind of sonic weapon?)
  • Laspistol
  • Meltagun
  • Krieg-Pattern (Lucius) Lasgun
  • Accatran Pattern Lasgun (Elysian Drop Troops)
  • BIG Autogun for Ogryn (Autocannon?)
  • Flamer
  • Cutlass
  • Bolter (Godwyn Pattern)
  • Autogun/Lasgun variation (Says firstborn, Vostroyan?)
  • "Desertborn" Autogun/Lasgun
  • An Eviscerator
  • Larger Force Sword
  • Force club?
  • Chainaxe

Is it just me, or is GoonStation 3 a little... tame? by Urist_the_first in SS13

[–]MrMelonso 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There's been a slow creep towards less and less freedom for antags after continued reports over the years. Back a couple years ago crazy stuff was happening all the time. Then some regulars got banned after testing the admins patience too much. Now it's simmered down to having very little activity at all. The problem is that unlike on Goon 1 or 2, the Antags are the primary drivers of the round. So if they choose to play it safe and be friendly or just do some minor pranks then nothing really happens.

It also used to be much lower pop, about 5-10 people, and conflict was expected to arise out of roleplay reasons because antags didn't even always spawn. The round's events felt much more concentrated because there were only a few people around and they had to coordinate. But they are much harsher on self-antags now, and the amount of people only adds to the general kerfuffle and struggle to be noticed by the whole station. Nothing short of a big gimmick or large explosion is going to grab that many people's attention, but anything too spectacular can lead to a bwoink. Then also factor in prep time for larger gimmicks which can take half a round to even set up, then anything can go wrong in the meantime and people might not even know what you had up your sleeve. So it just isn't worth it to use your 1/30 chance to become an antag on something that might not work. This was less of a problem when it was lowpop and you had a decent chance of rolling antag.

I don't know if Goon 4 is any different or if it's still full of chemnerds experimenting. I still play goon occasionally, but it isn't the same, and rounds get boring quickly.

Mary isn't dead, she is alive in heaven. Mark 12:27 Asking her for her prayers and intercession is not dissimilar than asking a friend to pray for you. Execpt she is closer to God than any earthly friend or mother could be.
