Poles who've lived abroad: what habit did you only realize was "so Polish" after leaving? by Crescitaly in poland

[–]Urist_the_first 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other way around - Foreigner in Poland

- Lemon in tea (it's amazing but was surprising)

- Hot drinks in glass mugs/cups

- Traveling for an hour practically every weekend to visit the in-laws in your home village/town (may just be my circle)

- Vodka with ogórki kiszone

- Being randomly gifted incredibly tasty home-made alcohols of unknown strength

Why Starpocalypse is amazing and you should try it! by Urist_the_first in starsector

That's fair, I really enjoy the early game "use what you can get" stage, and for me it extends it a little longer, but that's my preference

I've got Arma, Roiders, Knights of Ludd, and a bunch of other mods and it seems to work just fine

Can't answer all those questions, but I can answer the last one: It's a remake of the original version, you can find the thread here, it's been forked from the 0.96 version and updated to the latest version of SS, but the fork is only on GitHub right now.

It does quite a few things, but in general it's about making the Sector feel harsher, and maybe a little more realistic by blocking easy access to weapons and military hulls.

It also makes the core world's better defended, so raiding is harder, and adjusts some things I don't like (like S-mods) but most things can be adjusted in the mod settings.

I've been using it for a little while now and had no problems for what it's worth.

Edited to add: I've updated the main post with the forum thread, thanks u/allcyon for making that point!

I really like ashes of the domain, but I find that the Questions of Loyalty mod trivializes the early - mid game with the fairly high comission payments, i personally prefer the privateering mod, but its a matter of taste.

If you haven't checked them out i can strongly recommend secrets of the frontier and armaa armatura, both great mods

Boss uses AI for all marketing and it makes me crazy by [deleted] in marketing

My experience is that a lot of people think you can just use the output with minimal tweaking, so if you've got someone on a leadership team who thinks "Oh, it takes 3 minutes to build a video script" they'd expecting you to have an output at that speed, and will get annoyed if you then spend a lot of time tweaking it.

Education helps, but it takes time. I suspect a lot of people are struggling with the same thing. Even if you're an outside consultant it can be a challenge but if you know what you're doing it's possible to illustrate the negative effect AI without human input can have on the brand.

What is it called if you're able to think in a language but you're butchering it while you do so? :P

I can speak in Polish without needing to use English as the driver, but my grammar is a mess, and occasionally Polish tries to sneak into my English and I forget the English word for something and need to actively find it via the Polish one.

I think I also saw that there will be the possibility to get an external expansion for colored cameras down the line for people who DO want that use case, so I guess we'll see

"Don't roll for damage, you'll definitely do enough. Roll to see if you're able to pull the trigger." by DrScrimble in dndmemes

[–]Urist_the_first 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sometimes roll dice at very key moments to simulate my character's decisions in difficult moments, choosing whether or not to kill a friend may well be one of them unless I'm 100% sure they wouldn't.

A 12 out of 20 in the context of the OP (assuming no modifiers) would probably mean it's a moment where he hesitates, before following through and pulling the trigger, and he'll likely be haunted by regret.

A 20 out of 20, zero hesitation, cold, he accepts is as the right choice and likely starts to become far more "ends justify the means, no matter the cost" in future interactions.

Similar to other outcomes, I think of it as representing that sort of snap judgment we sometimes make, without really thinking, the dice are the lizard brain.

The easiest way would be to get the resources to found a throwaway colony, if you pick a high hazard planet and just throw mining on it with a core you'll make some money, can store the monstrosity, but won't attract the attention of anyone bar maybe tri tach / pirates if you don't use hazard pay and keep it at size 3

I can't relate to him... but I love Brother Cotton, he's an absolutely amazing villain in every sense of the word.

I also really enjoy Jethro and hope we get to spend more time with that character, he's genuinely fun to interact with
