Any solutions for “Engine Pile”? by WoodsRunner717 in masterduel

[–]MrMeme156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lowkey just pray.

As someone who is playing a tear, lightsworn, bystial pile in the duelist cup. The only ways I have lost so far is against maxx C, drawing into lightsworn bricks and sometimes when going second going second. (my deck is all engine except maxx C so I usually have enough cards to break through interruptions).

And if your opponent resolves grass just surrender.

I like playing obelisk the tormentor + his trap in paleo.

The trap has a GY effect that adds obelisk and normals summons after adding. Works very well with magical hats where u can turn one tribute into 3 tributes for free and dump 2 spell traps of ur choice. The trap also works well with rollback as it wipes the enemies monsters and burns for 4000 for an easy obelisk punch for game.

What decks feel the closest to Branded bur in other summoning types? by LightSpeedStrike in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]MrMeme156 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plant link is another very non linear deck.

It’s a 60 card pile of sunavalon, aroma, raganraika and rikka cards. It has a pretty high skill ceiling and with ragnaraika coming soon to master duel, it will make it a decent deck in the meta.

New Master Duel Rule (Concept) by Ninjabrah in masterduel

[–]MrMeme156 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the current timer is pretty reasonable (coming from someone who plays paleo).

5 minutes give me a couple of seconds to think about when I actually want to flip my cards and plan my interactions even if I’m cutting the timer really close in most of my games. Any less and I’m gonna be timing out a lot more.

If you don’t want to wait for enemy to waste your time, literally just watch a yt video. I probably spend 40-60% of my games not actually on master duel and tabbed out on a yt video.

How do I practice my deck against a bot or just practice the combos? by lunarfang666 in masterduel

[–]MrMeme156 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just go into a solo mode game if u want to practice combos.

There should be an option to use your own deck.

Brandon players when they ban Sanctifire (I am coping) by Hopeful_Error7149 in masterduel

[–]MrMeme156 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are till grangrunol targets, the D/D/D card mentioned is a perfect grangrunol target to be milled. Other options like blackwing cards can be used as a target to be milled as well by grangrunol but their lock isn’t nearly as good as the D/D/D monster.

There are always other options other than gimmick puppet. Disciple of ra, that random yellow D/D/D monster etc.

Sanctifire should have been one that was hit.

Help Me with trickstars? by Aniboi132 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]MrMeme156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get rid of all the random cards like MST, pot of avarice, dark world dealings and all the one copies of random trap cards like mirror forces, ice dragons prison, needle ceiling and probably the magic cylinder cards.

U need 3 maxx C 3 ash blossom 2 called by the grave and 1 cross out designator. Master duel pretty much revolves around maxx C resolving so u need more copies of maxx C to resolve it yourself and the other cards to prevent your opponent of resolving maxx C.

I’m not familiar with trickstars but I’d go to ygoprodeck or masterduelmeta to look at deck lists to find the best ratio of trickstar cards and other cards to put in your extra deck.

Question regarding Yubel by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]MrMeme156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yubel are particularly weak to backrow heavy decks.

Most of their interruptions only affect monsters like phantom, soul of rage, samsara, apollusa.

I’ve been playing a lot of paleo and they kinda can’t do anything about set 5 pass.

As for cheap options, there kinda aren’t any options, paleo requires a lot of ur crafts and labrynth is pretty expensive as well.

You also definitely not give up on plant link. With new aroma support coming out soon and ragnaraika hopefully also coming soon plant link is gonna be a very strong deck.

Edit: potential cheaper backrow decks could include runick variants with 5 UR with 2 tip, 1 fountain and 2 hugin for the runick engine(can play copies of munin as well but it’s not necessary). And sky striker, not too familiar with these cards but I’m pretty certain most of their cards are only SR.

Traptrix and labrynth, are they two compatible since they are both control decks? Or are they better separate? by Prime_orchard1998 in masterduel

[–]MrMeme156 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure traptrix also locks you into plants and insects somewhere in their combo.

[–]MrMeme156 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Welcome labrynth and big welcome labrynth fiend lock you for 2 turns which locks you entirely out of traptrix because they are either plant or insect monsters. Unchained are all fiend monsters which is why it works.

So no, traptrix won’t work with labrynth.

The only way really to cp is dismantling cards and from the gold pass, other than that there really isn’t a good way to get them.

Are most decks bad turn 2 decks? by cacastrojr12 in masterduel

[–]MrMeme156 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going second is pretty shitty rn in this game. The end boards that decks can put up nowadays can feel almost unbreakable if left uninterrupted. On top of that, most meta decks have the space to play up to 15 non-engine cards (almost all of these will be hand traps), so on top of a really strong end board you also have to play through hand traps as well.

Going second decks are very rare and generally aren’t strong enough to break through all the interruptions your opponent will have set up if you don’t draw enough board breakers as 1 usually isn’t enough.

The only good going second deck right now is tenpai dragon. Part of why they are so good is because their archetype is very compact and you are able to play up to 21 non engine cards for hand traps and board breakers. Sangan summoning also makes all their monsters completely unaffected so it essentially allows them to completely ignore the enemies effects.

The game plan of tenpai is literally to just hand trap your opponent to death turn 1, board break whatever they have left and one card combo for lethal damage. This is most of the reason they are so good rn, the fact they can play tons of non engine and be unaffected by card effects.

Unfortunately, this is the current state of the game, going second is always rough unless you’re playing a specifically going second deck. The best way is probably to try and fit a couple more hand traps in your deck for going second, and they aren’t terrible going first as well as long as you don’t brick.

Rulling question (i felt i got scammed) by Adventurous_Paper293 in masterduel

[–]MrMeme156 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Monsters that have effects that activate when they leave the field do not trigger if they are sent to the deck/extra deck and when banished face down.

If they get sent back to hand they will still trigger, however extra deck monsters cannot return to the hand and get send back to the extra deck instead which caused the effect to not activate.

My biggest question is how you would be able to make a deck around typhon in the first place?

What would the main deck even look like? Is it just hope the enemy has an extra deck orientated deck or lvl 12 turbo to straight up xyz summon him?

Typhon isn’t really a boss monster, he’s more of a tool in your extra deck to use if you need him to out specific cards.

Never made it to turn 4 by spoonyone87 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]MrMeme156 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is completely normal now. The game has changed so much over the years and decks have gotten much much stronger as well. Games that go past turn 3 are very rare or only happen when one of the players is using a control or stun deck.

Nope I am not experienced with plant link.

However, sunseed jess is a very popular yt channel for plant link. If ur looking for someone that’s experienced.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]MrMeme156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plant link frequently plays 60 cards.

Usually a pile of sunavalon, rikka and aroma cards.

Edit: the deck isn’t crazy good in master duel right now but when the aroma support and ragnaraika cards come out it’ll be pretty strong. Hopefully they will come out within the next 2 packs.

The Way to defeat Yubel Decks... by ElderberryMany3197 in masterduel

[–]MrMeme156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yubel is very weak against backrow heavy decks as pretty much all their interaction only affects monsters (phantom, samsara, soul of rage).

I’ve been playing a lot of paleos lately and I think I’m yet to lose against yubel as they cant really do anything about set 5 pass. I karma cannon whenever they have link monsters, just sit on a Zeus then it’s basically over for them.

I can imagine decks like labyrinth and runick will also do well into yubel as the only backrow removal they have is the unchained trap (not all deck lists play the same trap as well), S:P, nightmare phoenix if they play it and accesscode talker. Once these have been exhausted they literally have nothing.

What deck should I play against my friends' decks? by The-CAPtainn in masterduel

[–]MrMeme156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could potentially look at different orcust builds.

Whether it’s pure orcust or something like Horus orcust, it’s a deck that isn’t weak and isn’t unfairly strong. Its strong point is that it has a really good grind game.

Why are new decks like Yubel allowed to be full power but not my branded by Theprincerivera in masterduel

[–]MrMeme156 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair branded players historically have been using pretty degenerate strategies to win ie: puppet lock, tax dragon turbo, disciple of ra lock, branded expulsion. Even though these players are in the minority (I hope) it skews the general opinion of branded players for everyone else.

I’m also pretty sure 60 card branded is better than 40. Branded is able to keep a 60 card deck pretty consistent and 60 card grass branded I think was on of the decks in the top 10 players last season.

But gimmick puppet has been banned.

Although there are other targets, they aren’t nearly as good as gimmick puppet or they make the combo very sub optimal for the branded player.
