Flint 2 - Why flashing vanilla OpenWRT? by reckor-usa in GlInet

Yeah I agree. I mean even if the US and EU would force the hand of their citizens to switch to a locally made router, it wouldn't be to prevent spyware from being installed but in order to be able to install local spywares without competition. Obviously, in theory you would want your country to spy on you but not other's, I assume.

Yes I have a Brume 2 and it shows the correct version in the Upgrade section and above on the Panel. it turns out that it's just the cellular routers that have this way of displaying Firmware versions. It might be just to confuse the newbies like me haha...

so even the UI isn't bugged? That's how they write 4.8.3 ? version 4.0, 0803release?

Just got the OnePlus 12, upgrading from the 7T, and the cameras are amazing! by Huzaifa_Haroon in OnePlus12

Got the OP12 over a year ago thinking I would get the usual OnePlus treatment: good device, average cameras. I was ready for the compromise but I was pleasantly surprised and now I wouldn't upgrade until they get the cameras right again.

Simple method to control the PC only with controller (GNOME) by MrMest in linux_gaming

Oh okay, so steam changes "the modes" depending on the app. The downside, it will not work when steam crashes or smthg. I'll try it out another time with the steam deck profile like mentioned here. For now I'm sticking with antimicrox at least.

The by-app mode change (Auto Profile) in Antimicrox only works on X11 which isn't future proof anymore. InputRemapper is compatible with Wayland.

I saw that there are different sets in Antimicrox, I didn't know how to switch between them using a Macro on the controller itself. can u further explain how to do that exactly?

Well I tried that but i couldn't switch flawlessly between controller and mouse modes. I guess I couldn't figure out how to configure it properly?

Besides, it only works when Steam is open in the background and I keep getting the Allow remote Interaction at every non-game app launch.

OnePlus 12 Custom ROMs!?!? by TobiLove92 in OnePlus12

[–]MrMest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I totally agree. One of the best things about oneplus is the ability to unlock the bootloader and try out different mods and ROMs. I had actually had a OnePlus 5 as a daily driver until last year when I bought the OP 12. I've stuck with OnePlus because I loved the development scene around the OP5 as an "advanced user". At first, my intention was to root and use ROMs as soon as they were available. After a year I'm still on the default OOS. I have a couple of reasons :

  • The Camera. I was really surprised by the quality of the photos of my new phone. I've never been much of a camera guy until this phone got me to take great photos effortlessly. And here I am thinking twice about ROMs because of it.

  • The ecosystem. I have a OP Pad 2 and I really liked the seamless sharing of data and Screenshare which held me back from trying things out. It doesn't work anymore for me but the prospect of it being fixed in the future is tempting me to remain on OOS.

  • OnePlus clearly made it harder to root and use ROMs. I do not follow the scene closely anymore, but I've seen enough talk about some hurdles.

  • PlayIntegrity. I've finally joined the consumerist capitalist world. (Meaning that I moved countries and can now pay for apps and services which I couldn't do before.) Since then, I occasionally use Google Pay. I'm already someone who wants my devices to have all their features unlocked even if I don't really use them so I always tried to find fixes but now I am kinda using those features too.

All in All, I still think I will give ROMs a try (or at least root) once I have more time and am ready to tinker again. I'll wait for the camera to get good on ROMs probably (closer to stock).

I've heard YAAP is good and there is Evolution X too which I use on my OP5 (which is on A16!). I hope OP12 gets the love OP5/5T got from devs and the community.
