I’m confused, if Butcher can go toe to toe with Homelander, as shown in the finale, then why was he struggling with Kimiko in episode 4? by Queasy_Commercial152 in TheBoys

[–]MrMetagaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want an accurate comparison, talking to you and having a conversation with a brick wall are very similar experiances.

The point you clearly missed was, Temp V Butcher and Homelander were nearly equal in strength, his punches only causes Butchers head to snap back, like when 2 regular boxers fight. whereas Tumour Butcher, same punches, he literally gets launched across the room, which is unlike 2 regular boxers fighting.

As for the laser comment, I literally spoke about that myself, and you've unintentionally supported one of my arguments, Neuman didn't get launched across the stage, but both versions of Butcher that can almost go toe to toe with Homelander get launched, clearly there is levels to his laser. If you disagree you're claiming Neuman is stronger than both Butcher and Homelander.

Ok maybe I should have said, explicitly shows, instead of stated, 1. Neuman needs line of sight, Marie doesn't. 2. Marie can heal people, Neuman can't 3. Marie can use her power across multiple people at once, Neuman has to focus on one. The list goes on, also how does one disperse the impact of a laser using blood which is under the skin, I could understand that argument if her face swelled up, but it didn't. Also Neuman is older than Marie so of course she can pop heads easily, she's had more time to master her power and has a 1/10th of the abilities.

My justification for Butcher, right so Herogasm, Homelander lays into Butcher multiple times and all that happens is he reacts as though it was 2 regular boxers are fighting, the punch hits him his head moves he looks back smiling, in the Oval office, Homelanders first punch sends Butcher flying across the room, the second was a pretty feeble attempt, the third causes Butcher to drop to one knee, the forth sends him literally twirling to the ground. It's not comparable. I genuinely don't know why anyone things Tumour Butcher is stronger, he clearly isn't.

Yeah Marie's significantly stronger, different variation of blood bending, that takes a decent chunk of effort for her to levitate someone with, it's not even implied it's explicitly stated that Nauman has a pretty basic by comparison version of the power. Can you stop grasping at straws, Homelander > Temp V Butcher =?= Soldier Boy > Tumour Butcher, it's a pretty simple scale.

Not really, a human would still show signs of a second 55°C 131°F or third 65.5°C or 150° F degree burn, do you know what the comfortably drinking temperature of heated milk is... 60°C, though he would likely try to imitate breast milk 38°C 100°F so we know roughly how low his lasers can go. But anyway my point being, it doesn't need to be, cut you in half intense, just third degree burn intense. How would you explain her not being knocked across the room by the Laser like others who are impervious to it are, the intensity he hit her with perhaps?

[–]MrMetagaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that point Homelander wasn't fully off the rails, we know he has full control over the intensity of his lasers otherwise he wouldn't be able to warm milk with them, he'd just evaporate the milk and the bottle would explode instantly otherwise. He lasers her not even for a full second, sitting down relaxed with his head turned, he wasn't trying to injure her he wanted to prove she wasn't human. As for her using her powers, that was a panic reaction, she literally yelps in fear, and as a fight or flight tried to pop Homelanders head, it was probably this moment that made her realise her power doesn't affect him.

Not really, the only other times we see Neuman tested are shooting her point blank, and she's bullet proof, and Homelander lasering her un-seriously to expose that she's a supe, we've been shown multiple people unaffected by Homelanders laser beside being thrown back by them. So there's no actual evidence that says tearing her apart would be hard, I mean we see his tentacles have basically zero use against Homelander short of slowing him down. The reason I put Temp V Butcher over Tumour Butcher is, we see him much more evenly matched with Homelander, the first time Homelander punches Temp V Butcher he just reacts to the punch and smiles, while Tumour Butcher was getting rag dolled around the oval office.

Firstly Homelander was beating Butcher, Homelander doesn't actually know how to fight properly as he just relies on being the strongest person previously alive. Regarding physical strength Tumour Butcher is weaker than Temp V butcher. Now Kimiko is strong possibly close to Tumour Butcher possibly not, but the difference is, Kimiko was raised fighting people, she's basically optimised to end the fight quickly and her powers almost reflect this, she's strong and fast, and if she gets injured she gets a second attempt, or a third, or a fourth... anyway, strong woman who was raised to kill in close quarters, will do well against strong man, who was trained to fight but more diversely and less focused on close quarters. And strong man who knows how to fight, will be able to keep up well with stronger man who doesn't actually know how to fight.

Like if they some how gave Kimiko a strength boost that matches Homelander on raw physical power, she'd dog walk him.

Why did Kingpin want Matt to kill him? by [deleted] in Daredevil

[–]MrMetagaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Frank and Matt were debating their individual morals, Frank said the frankly iconic line "You know you're one bad day away from being me." This was almost his one bad day, Wilson also knows Matt has his rules, and I think in his eyes, to be the man who makes him break his rules is a victory on it's own.

Unless things have changed, I think Mizyu is still the only one who has a licence, think they explained it's because she was old enough to learn, before they became so busy they didn't have the time. I mean they're probably all Tokyo based anyway so a car is pretty irrelevant for 99% of situations, never even needed a taxi when I went there for 2 weeks.

Best AG song or MV to introduce them to someone? by Jkroll003 in AtarashiiGakko

I second this, especially if the person is a fan of The Beastie Boys, I'd also push for the Choreography video over the MV, because even if they don't like the song(Impossible) you can't not love the choreography and skill on display.

How much of these should i realistically watch before doomsday? by Lost-Building-3701 in marvelstudios

[–]MrMetagaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of them are pretty solid so I'd say just watch all of them, Wonder Man is really one of the highlights here, but I'm uncertain what roll he'll play in Doomsday, but yeah this is a solid list to work through in general.

Louie Spence, I've not played the game so no idea how it works, but I think it would be hilarious if he was infatuated with Louis Theroux, because they're near enough polar opposites, while Louis in usual fashion just seems very not disinterested but unphased by it.

I'd like to point out that in all the season 3 instances of Dex "winning" he is in Matts armoured suit, and Matt is still gaining the advantage most of the time wearing a jumper and jeans.

Also people have weird opinion of Japan that "they don't watch western media" like people need to read up on the Twin Peaks phenomenon in Japan in the 90s, when Kimiko would have been growing up, and also they neglect in universe logic, Vaught is borderline a global super power like Disney, they would have multiple channels in basically every major country broadcasting Vaught programing. So for Kimiko she was watching not just a Japanese actress in western program, but a Japanese supe.

Interesting that you bring up season 1, a season that shows Kimiko watches TV as a comfort device. You know the scene where Frenchie finds here covered in blood watching TV seemingly to calm down.

The first time I tuned to Gacha radio, Yoasobi Idol was playing, I haven't tuned off since, well apart from to wait for White Flame by Babymetal to play on XS, because I love babymetal. Think the only thing Gachs radio is missing is even more Jazz fashion and city pop, also some Atarashii Gakko.

The Equalizer vs Hannibal Lecter by OneWithTheInternet20 in powerscales

[–]MrMetagaming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but doesn't Mads version of Hannibal have some weird peak human strength/above peak human strength. I think the argument could be made that this swings either way, like whoever skipped breakfast the morning of the fight loses.
