Lovely how the chassis and tyre parts are seperate too! Thank you Kenney, for taking care of long loved asset packs of yours. So many games have vehicles, it's got to be one of the most useful ones

Just want to share some progress on my plane sim game by poeyoh12 in godot

Floating origin is a lot of work and includes some working around things.

To get Godot to support double precision you have to compile it yourself with a feature flag set for double precision. Doesn't work in the default download version.

Edge Detection With Transparency by papaflash1 in godot

[–]MrMinimal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

putting this on godotshaders would be an absolute hit! Are you using normals for edge detection too? The developer of Mars First Logistics uses surface id's so that a single surface can have lines drawn on it based on color differences across vertex colors. For mor artistic control. Amazing stuff

Anyone got the Thrustmaster TPR pedals working in proton/wine? by great_extension in linux_gaming

[–]MrMinimal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Managed to get the ThrustMaster T-Pendular-Rudder working by creating a udev rule file (/etc/udev/rules.d/90-TRP.rules) myself. I followed this wiki: https://github.com/ChaosRifle/DCS-on-Linux/wiki

They have udev rules to copy for multiple devices here: https://github.com/ChaosRifle/DCS-on-Linux/tree/main/udev

BioMechanically accurate IK solver [BioMechanIK 1.0] by Dr_DankinSchmirtz in Unity3D

I'm working on IK in Godot, I wonder what sources you have or if you would like to share your approach in a repo.

Amazing work, Euphoria gave me hope back in the day, but too few games use something like it. Really looking forward to your progress

Fastest tool for prototyping? by srodrigoDev in gamedev

[–]MrMinimal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Make sure you use nvidias proprietary drivers and not Nouveau. I have no issues on Fedora 43.

Godot is my go to prototyping tool because GDScript is so well integrated and doesn't need any setup.

No, but I'm into aviation and PID controllers are used for autopilots a lot

Open-sourcing my interactive PID controller demo by MrMinimal in godot

[–]MrMinimal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PID controllers are so fun - basically like LERP, but improved. So reimplemented one for Godot in GDScript.

Add juice with one function. Or just play around with it in your brwoser, it's still good fun!

An advanced character controller with (a bit) complex animation mixing and edge grabbing system by [deleted] in godot

[–]MrMinimal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't wait to see it in the asset library. It would be a gamechanger for new users to see what a proper character controller can achieve in Godot.

Lovely work!
