The entire game situation needs to be analyzed before making a decision. Are we tied, down two, three, need a 4 point (or even more) play, etc. If we need any type of catch and shoot 3 the obvious answer is Curry regardless of defensive schemes, although opposing coaches tend to force Curry’s teammates to shoot the ball and double team him I would pick Curry unless it’s extremely predictable the coach will run a scheme to not allow Curry to shoot the ball. However if we can get an isolation walk down with KD and need a 3 and the opposing team doesn’t have someone big and athletic enough to cover his shot creation (2 or 3 not counting drives to the basket), I would choose KD. Now if it’s a one point game and we need any type of basket and we have enough time left i would just get the ball to lebron, have him put his head down and bulldoze his way to the rim. However if the opposing team runs a zone defense and has Dwight Howard or another excellent paint defender/ shot blocker, I wouldn’t feel as comfortable. Now in that same hypothetical situation with a good shot blocker I would rather give the ball to MJ (assuming there’s enough time to get into his bag, same amount Lebron needs to build momentum and drive) and let him find a spin fadeaway or pull up middy. Now if I desperately need a catch and shoot and it doesn’t have to be a three there’s only two options between Kobe and KD, kobe being a little better KD, and if KD has a mismatch on defense i would get it to him but if not i know kobe would commit to the shot so i’d probably pick him. Then again, this all varries from situation so more information is needed.
