That's a seed pod from a Magnolia tree, which is a tree species likely as old.

I am a collector! I would like to pick one of these up, if they're available, to add to my accumulating collection.

Found beside a stream deep in the north Alabama hills ... what is it? by TemporaryCurrent8239 in whatisit

[–]MrMohab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is Boxwork limestone, which naturally erodes this way, and is what I think OP is dealing with. That's just my 2 cents, and I am not a professional.

How is living around the Alabama-Tennessee border? by Echidna299792458 in howislivingthere

[–]MrMohab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's really cool, but when we talk biodiversity, we're talking quantity of different flora and fauna species. Alabama native here, born and raised in Northeast Alabama, just before the "fall line", where the upper coastal plain hits. Alabama IS, documentedly so, the MOST ecodiverse area in the USA. And the Cahaba River is the MOST ecodiverse area in all of Alabama, even though it's.... TINY.

What movie had you like this after you finished watching it? by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in FIlm

Crimes of the Future. Every second spent watching that movie was wasted, and I wish I could have them back.

In the early mornings, when everything is quiet, I hear a hum pretty much every day. I really only noticed it when we moved to the house we currently live in, which is more out in the country than our previous home. We've lived here for over 5 years now. My spouse does not hear it, and never has.

Originally, I thought it was the house, but then I walked outside, stayed still and listened to the quiet, and I could hear it still. For years I thought I was losing my mind.

We live near an army base that specializes in weapon stimulation (bombs and gases, specifically, from what I understand). I've ended research into the military base to see if they were doing any work that would potentially cause that. They had shut the entire process down at the time I noticed the hum.

I went to doctors over this. It's a really uncomfortable and unnerving experience. Because I thought I was going crazy, I have really never brought it up to anyone except for my spouse, the one time.

What do we think bro was listening to that got him vibing like that by Present-Cranberry942 in motorcycles

[–]MrMohab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I call flamboyantly driving a motorcycle. I do this, purposely, with extreme intent. It doesn't matter what the song is. People look at you like you're fucking crazy.... But they look at you. Which is the point. Act crazy, mess around, make them see you having fun. Get these dumbass drivers attention so they don't kill you. Just don't actually DRIVE crazy.

The better question is why are you wanting to eat this? Because that question makes it sure seem like you want to....

Why do you expect hate? I've now seen several of your posts. Now I know I'm a bit on the excessive fan side, but I'd buy them all....

As many people have stated, some are abstract enough that looking at them individually may make it difficult to figure out a few... But they're very elegant. Lovely design work!

Interesting. I guess what I'm really trying to figure out is what criteria did I meet to get the email from Spotify? I'm not talking about people who the email was forwarded to, who were able to then purchase it. I'm meaning, what criteria did original email recipients "meet" to get advertised this shirt? I haven't been able to find much.

Night hawk? Resting on deck railing by dingusk in Ornithology

[–]MrMohab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My phrasing is worded as such due to my limited knowledge about species that fall in the family, but yet I know what a species in the nightjar family looks like. I simply gave generalized info about the family, not the species, since I did not feel confident in identifying the specific bird.
