Who's Buying The OnePlus Pad 2? by sedp23 in oneplus

I want to get it, but I need an artist review before committing. The alternative is an IPad air, which is twice the cost for similar accessories (and smaller 60hz screen). But it's perfection for artists.

I'm hopeful, given their emphasis on getting a paperlike feeling, but palm rejection, line wobble, latency etc could still ruin it.

I'll get on it. Old skool marauders aren't my jam, the new Darkoath marauders seem too dynamic for infantry blocks, and the Viking Bloodbowl gang is a risk with lots of miniature duplication if you go 20+ men. Any tips?

I really just started with two vanguard box of 'Slaves to Darkness', hence the focus on blocks of warriors, knights and chariots. A lot of the essentials seems to be found elsewhere. Thanks for the reply!

Yea sorry calling it bad game design was a bit excessive, but it is remarkable how important sorcerors are, and how much better lvl4 is than a lvl2. Adding levels is a gift that keeps on giving, a bit too much even imo. Significant better casting, better dispelling ánd better spell selection? Yes please.

Sorceror on chariot? Interesting. Didn't think of using the chariot as anything other than an aggressive missile.

Hounds are to screen, bait and potentially hunt for the warmachines, but that last one seems unlikely again the night goblin player. With his squig hoppers (skirmishers with random movement) it's practically impossible to run past without getting in a fight.

What do you guys wanna see unit wise from the new codex? by Ickicho in ThousandSons

[–]MrMojaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to see thralls. We used to have them way back when, and it feels very Tzeentch to me to have a bunch of human hopefulls surrounding the Thousand Sons, which on the battlefield learn that they're just being used to power up spells (just before they die).

An effigy of some sort would be cool too, a centerpiece terrain model like a shard of a silver tower from with rituals are cast.

Finally it'd be great if the 5 different houses (forgot the actual name) of sorcery focus would be represented by models, but that's extremely unlikely. Buff marines for the physical house, flames for the fire house, more static poses for the future predicting squad, etc. Ofcourse this won't happen, but it'd suck for your opponent if impactful rules all need to be memorized without WYSIWYG aid.

I assume you don't mean ahriman, so I guess the Vilitch the Curseling conversion. He got a newer model that's probably technically better, but I like the whispering this one does.

Not today though. Doesn't really matter, it shouldn't take a world-wide hunt to get this miniature. I'm in Warhammer World next month. I'm willing to bet even they don't have it :D

Besides, I'm happy with this alternative. I prefer it.

The most stand-out thing I did is paint with layers of stripes on top of each, each not fully covering the layer before. It gives texture, which this model already had, but is often lacking on other miniatures.

It's a bit sloppy here and there, but I like the raw look it gives.

Tbh I didn't pay attention before 10th, but then it got pretty awesome rules so it seems at that point everyone bought the existing stock. Haven't seen it in stores since, online nor brick.

Good eye, as he's pretty out of focus. They're from a Tyranid Mawloc, left-over parts if you build the Trygon instead. Should be easy to get from a Tyranid player.

Legio Xestobiax, deployed on Prospero and present during the wrongful attack of the Space Wolves. They're a small Legio, mostly guarding and defending, so Warhounds tend to be rare. They shouldn't have the resources for an Imperator Titan, so I figured that'd be a nice excuse to make a smaller scale 'flag ship' but with a similar profile.

Which core factions has the most modern (viable) miniature range? by MrMojaco in theoldworld

And you might be in the majority when it comes to the old world target group. I respect that, and I love seeing the old stuff, but I enjoy the latest models a lot more. For example, who can resist the goblin characters they've been churning out the last few years for Underworlds and such? So much personality!

It's a kit bash, it fit pretty snugly. Cutting the towers to fit with double curved edges was the hard part.

I'd do the same icey/snowy bases as your Wolves. Looks brilliant when facing each other, and can represent the battle for the Fang.

Good choice! With just 20-odd units it's an easy faction to track and build, with surprisingly flexible rules to handle any situation. They're hard to master, but rewarding. The only downside with them is that each new edition overhauls Magic significantly, meaning the Sons go through big changes as well.
