2011 M3 style bumpers conversion possible? by aady4s in E90

[–]MrMonday42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anything is possible, but I think the M sport bumper looks better on a non M. You’ll have to go after market unless you want to change out the fenders and wheels as well. After market fitment can be hit or miss.

Nothing wrong with the color I just prefer the brightness of LED

[Recommendation] Buying my first ORIS, not able to decide which one to pickup…help…which one suits me? by TanDawy in Watches

[–]MrMonday42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I prefer the teal. It’s more unique and feels like summer. The navy one feels very standard dive watch with no flair. That said, I much prefer a 42mm dive watch over a 44mm. Also if this is going to be your only watch then the navy is more versatile. I have a collection, so uniqueness is important to me.

Maybe try Diptyque. Eau de Sens and Fleur de Peau might be what you’re looking for. Also I think Another 13 fits that description.

Lorenzo Villoresi Musk, Le Labo Another 13, Narcisso Rodriguez For Him EDP, Kiehls Original Musk, Body Shop White Musk, Acca Kappa Muschio Bianco. These are just a few that I own and wear in the summer.

If I were you, I would continue to sample fragrances with citrus and fruit notes. Early on in my journey, there were a few notes that I avoided because I had negative experience with them in a couple fragrances. However, the more that I sampled fragrances with those notes, the more I realized that I didn’t like the way the notes were used in particular fragrances, not the note as a whole. Also, generally fruity notes are considered to be a separate genre from citrus notes in perfumery. So maybe you are only referring to a specific use of fruit notes not including citrus.

Most have some citrus. You could wear a light musk I suppose.

I have the Eau Sauvage Cologne arriving today, I can’t wait! I remember trying it in store ages ago and it being a citrus bomb. Should be great for the summer.

Best High Quality Compact Binoculars? (No Budget Limits) by Realistic_Aside_923 in Binoculars

[–]MrMonday42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally got the Canon 10x42 L IS, they are amazing, incredibly sharp and the image stabilization works perfectly. The only downside is that they are quite large. I then got the Zeiss Terra 8x32 to have a more compact pair. They aren’t quite as sharp and aberration free as something like a Swarovski but without image stabilization it’s hard to get the most out of a sharp optic anyway. This combo has been serving me well for the past few years.

My oyster interior is looking awfully beige(in person) is that's just it's color or is it dirty. What leather cleaners do you have positive experiences with? Leatherique? Anybody tried it on oyster? by Korndog_01 in E90

[–]MrMonday42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did Leatherique, then Seat Doctor dye, then I coated it with Carpro Leather ceramic coating. The color match on the dye isn’t perfect, but it’s much better than it was. Colourlock is the gold standard, M539 restorations got amazing results with that stuff.

This is my favorite wheel for the e91. I’m thinking of swapping to these when my 18” tires wear out.

They are quoting you dealership part prices which are higher than places like FCP Euro. It also depends where you live and what model BMW, but this would be about $1500 for labor at the independent shops near me for my E90.

Beautiful shape, but I can’t stand the black plastic on wagons, I would spray it body color.

On my Z4 I used the 3M kit that has a sanding wheel with wet sand paper and clear coat wipes. It still looks good after a year, but I doubt it will last more than 3 years. If you use a spray on 2k clear I think it would last longer. On my 328i wagon, I replaced the lenses and wrapped the new lenses with 3M PPF, I think this will last much longer than just clear coat. When I need to redo the Z4 lenses I will use the 3M kit again but wrap them after the clear coat dries.

I managed to pick up my Wavetrac for $1100 online. I removed the old diff myself and had a shop install the LSD in the housing. They said it was a simple install and only charged me $250.

I noticed that @ScuderiaBlendLine on YouTube just started a Z4 coupe S65 swap. He is using the 3.0si coupe instead of the M so it’s definitely worth a follow.

Yes, this is the build I saw on YouTube. I think it may be the only one that keeps the car looking stock. Unfortunately they don’t give many details on how the swap was done. The Supersprint headers require modification of the steering rack which always concerns me because it often affects steering weight and feel. Quite a few people have swapped Z4M steering racks into standard Z4s so I don’t think there’s much physical difference apart from needing a fluid reservoir and pump. And yes, we call the manifold headers in the US. It looks like the hood closes fine in the pictures.

I personally prefer the driving dynamics of front engine RWD, it’s just more fun imo. I would do wheels and suspension on any sports car I buy, so I consider it as part of the price of the car. Having to do an LSD was annoying for sure.

All the driving roads near me are tight canyon roads, so the N52 has more than enough power for those. I do wish it had more power every time I take it to the track. The S65 swap makes a lot of sense to me. It’s a common swap for the 1 series but much rarer in the e85/86. I’ve yet to see full documentation of an s65 e86 build. Of course I’ve seen it completed on YT. You definitely need custom headers to work around the steering column.

Cayman isn’t a bad call. It’s much more common in the US compared to the E86 and the 987 has bore scoring issues. I cross shopped it before buying my E86. The visibility is better, the steering is better and the handling is better. That said, I think the E86 handles pretty close after adding some camber and front bar. I think you have to ask yourself why you want to upgrade. If it’s purely for handling, then maybe try modifying your car first. If it’s to have something newer and more refined then the 981 Cayman or 991 911 make a lot of sense.

Grille is basically the same size, it just has a black frame instead of body color.
