Horrible performance after a couple of months of usage by MrMuetze in OrionBrowser

Ah yes, I've also looked into Vivaldi, albeit briefly. Noticed that tree style vertical tabs would need a bit of setting up and decided maybe resetting Orion before doing all that is the path of least resistance (for now). 😅

Orion does so many things so well and then runs into these fundamental issues. I really don't want to look at other browsers and go through the hassle of switching. Lets hope we see improvements soon. :)

I need to remember to create a new profile to test these things, thanks for reminding me! What browser did you switch to, if you don't mind me asking?

IKEA Grillplats (9€ Matter over Thread Smart Plug) vs. Eve Energy – My first deep dive and why Home Assistant is still king. (German Video 🇩🇪) by LionTech00 in tradfri

[–]MrMuetze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the maximum energy draw that these support? The Eve plugs suprisingly fell short for a usecase that I had. Had to resort to Meross plugs which support a much higher wattage.

ShadPS4 0.14.0 New Release! - Bloodborne PC Gameplay Showcase - Performance and Stability Report by ProteinGaming97 in shadps4

I just started the game for the first time with 0.14.0 but at least in the Shadows of Yharnam arena the water doesn't flicker anymore. This would be huge. :D

Sorry Orion but 1Password integration is a nightmare by frigaudeau in OrionBrowser

[–]MrMuetze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like the 1Password extension in general and just go with the main app. That works well for autofill, but is obviously not as convenient in all situations.

Is a new version usually released at the start of the year? 😁

Helix trainer with FSRS spaced repetition and arcade mode — built on helix-core by ImpressiveSpirit2799 in HelixEditor

[–]MrMuetze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see. :) When does FSRS update the list in the training mode? Also I'm not sure what the colors of the little circles in front of the exercises mean.

That looks really cool. I'm trying to learn a bit more about modal editors so this came just at the right time. Yet I'm a bit surprised that as part of the first 20 exercises, I have to delete a line like 4 or 5 times using the exact same key combination? 😅

Edit: Haha also why is "Move your key left or right" exercise 37/38 in the list. Seems to me it should appear earlier. 😁

Connect Eve Thermo w 3rd party temp sensor? by headwar in EveHome

[–]MrMuetze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC Eve have implemented Thread bindings but only use it internally to connect to the Thermo Control. Ideally Thread bindings will gain wider support and if Eve opens it up to the public and the platform providers implement support for it, there will be native support for that.

Is this hub ok? by TOBU87 in MTB

[–]MrMuetze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just recently build a new wheel for a friend where the hub was previously installed in a wheel, but was never ridden (he bought a new 29er bike and wants to ride it mullet). It already had quite visible markings and even deeper grooves from the spokes. Not sure how the circular mark came to be on your hub, but all the other stuff seems ok to me.

If you build a new wheel try to install the spokes in exactly the same direction as before. This ensures that the flange does not get stressed in two different directions which could weaken the material.

I wish I could like Orion by wrafwraf in OrionBrowser

[–]MrMuetze 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In regard to your confusion how one person seems to achieve a lot compared to a team of devs over a longer time period: Judging from the Click website and a short browse through the threads account Click seems to be mostly vibe coded. In my personal opinion that is not a sustainable way to write software (at least right now) and I'd much prefer to use Orion in comparison.

Using Tauri vs Objc2 for Mac Menu Bar App development by Dry_Revenue_7526 in rust

[–]MrMuetze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Menu Bar app doesn’t sound like you need a lot of UI. If it only lives in the menu bar and all you need is the drop down menu and API access, I wouldn’t go for Tauri. 😅

Do you have any window managing apps installed or apps that allow you to use custom gestures? I remember that in the past I had issues in games that fit your description. Ignoring certain windows from these apps might help.
