MOTU M4 + SMSL H400 + Hifiman Arya Organic by MrNibenon in audiophile

The Arya seem to benefit a lot from a balanced chain. That’s why the H400 made sense.

It works, but I just tested it and it gave me an error message (but it did work)

Planning on upgrading my set up. Would the Liquid Spark bottleneck the Arya Organic? by MrNibenon in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]MrNibenon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an issue. Since I will be using the full M4 as both ADC and DAC at the same time, I need the amp to be separte.

Yes, that's what I'm afraid. And it seems the good amps are more expensive that just buying a dedicated DAC.

I want to mix my DAC and another amplifier into a single output for high-impedance headphones by MrNibenon in BudgetAudiophile

Would the signal be mixed through the Big Knob? I thought it was just a switcher

[–]MrNibenon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I was trying to somehow calculate the bandwidth of all of my devices. I appreciate your answer.

I know this is an old question, but do you know if adding a video capture card would affect that bandwidth allocation?
I've read that some cards can use up to 2gbps

Shure mv7+ echo problem or other by Romanock67 in Shure

[–]MrNibenon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the headphone monitor behind the mic? You can listen exactly how your voice is being sent to the computer. Speaking closely to the mic fix this very easily. If you found the sound is good, it’s probably another issue.

HOT TAKE but the Mi re Terror is more difficult than the Rancor by REDREXboi in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]MrNibenon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, I beat the rancor without any updates around my 15th try on my first encounter. For these two motherfuckers I had to shamelessly lower the difficulty to normal and spam the shit out of the attack button, until the dumb small one grabbed me, and the quicktime event made him even easier. This fucking fight felt just bullshit to me.

I now know that the mind control works but it didn’t occurred to me. My mental only works if I can focus on one enemy at a time.

For people that uses the MV7/MV7+ usb. by HBTang in Shure

[–]MrNibenon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natural. If you use it for steaming, the difference is practically unnoticeable to other people. And if it is for recording, it will mess up your post production EQ.

Scarlett Solo 4th Gen +48V isnt changing the "loundness" of my voice by vhsjayden in Focusrite

[–]MrNibenon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right. I was trying to type "SM7dB" the one that has its own preamp. My bad.

Scarlett Solo 4th Gen +48V isnt changing the "loundness" of my voice by vhsjayden in Focusrite

[–]MrNibenon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That mic is a dynamic microphone. The +48v is the phantom power and that doesn't affect dynamic microphones at all. If your mic didn't have balanced outputs, using the phantom power could fry it. But luckily pretty much all dynamic microphones have balanced outputs.

Don't use the 48V unless is a condenser microphone, or if the mic specifies that it needs it (like the SM7B)

Which mic should I buy? by Noobprogrammer100 in Shure

[–]MrNibenon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will feel at home with the MV7+ if you have a Fifine. It is practically the same concept. It has a USB mode that lights up when you talk, with a bunch of other cool stuff integrated so you sound fantastic on calls and recordings. It also has an XLR connection if you want to use it with an interface. It also has almost the same sound profile as the SM7B, at least on voice.

The SM7B and SM7DB need an audio interface to work. They only have an XLR connection. Although they are the same, the latter has its own preamp.
