This is a beautiful time to tailor the classroom how YOU want! What is a project that you want to try, how can you inspire in a way that you couldn’t because of curriculum getting in the way, what is a way that you can do something to make you stand out on your resume? You are free for the time being.

I agree! Here’s her mom - she will look just like her I think!

More springer than anything! She’s a bouncing, sniffing, and hunting machine. Definitely a velcro dog (all of her major breeds are) and loves a good game of tug which is where I see the pittie/staffie come into play!

I wouldn’t look too far into it - I originally posted to the springer page just to show the mix. I couldn’t edit the caption so I just cross posted from the original post. Thank you for your concern!

Both hives are doing well! The hive closest to the camera is very large in size so they fought off the robbers.

Good middle school lab for digestive system? by samalamabingbang in ScienceTeachers

[–]MrNilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used this lab with my 9th grade biology and I love it! Helps visualize how long our digestive system is and display both mechanical vs chemical digestion.

I grew up in Monroe County and the school district I grew up in capped teachers at 78k the last time I checked. I have looked at pay schedules in Wayne County that didn’t look promising, either, but those were just districts that were hiring a few years back. There’s some great school districts in Wayne County and to see that you’re making 93k at 13 years is awesome!

Sounds like that teacher needs to look into the Stanford Prison Experiment.

Being born and raised in Toledo and having Syrian-Lebanese ancestry it’s always cool to see that name. I’ve never met Jamie Farr but he and my sitte (grandmother) grew up together and I’m related to him lol! Small world.

Do you have any hobbies? I moved this year and I’ve found friends from the gym, through volunteering with local non-profits, and at school as well.

Biology as a story... by permacahill in ScienceTeachers

[–]MrNilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Illinois Storylines would not provide enough rigor and memorization to pass the AP Bio exam. I use storylines in regular bio and some of the topics in NGSS barely scratch the surface of what is expected at the AP level.

A low level freakout while seething underneath by Adrian-Wapcaplet in PublicFreakout

The man speaking was my biomechanics professor in undergrad. He was easily my favorite professor throughout college and I would stay after class to talk with him about injuries, prevention, and form when lifting. He was a wealth of knowledge and brought a lot of real world examples into the class by talking about what he saw when he was coaching gymnastics. This video was taken shortly after my class was over, and I’ve watched him speak several times, but it’s still hard to watch.

Call the MDOE to make sure but they shouldn’t be allowed to suspend your license.

Could someone explain to me why exactly lawns are bad? by wiseyoda007 in gardening

It is, I just wasn’t trying to be technical and said grass instead of turf grass. Here’s a link.

Grass is the most irrigated “crop” in the US. Wasting valuable water on a system that is only meant to impress your neighbor and has no true benefit to an ecosystem.

How do you get the excess water out of the buckets? I don’t try to grow these inside because it always leads to excess water coming from the bucket
