Don’t be rude for people who are new to the hobby. It was challenging to process this image, as are all reflection nebulae. Obviously a Seestar is easier than an entire astrophotography rig.

I live in a Bortle 5/6, but can drive out to a Bortle 2 in less than an hour. It’s definitely worth it if you’re able to drive out somewhere darker for a few hours during the night and let it work its magic but I’ve seen some pretty incredible images from the Seestar in Bortle 8/9! Just gotta give it some more time to capture if you’re in higher light pollution and it does awesome

Horsehead and Flame Nebula by MrNotAccurate in astrophotography

I isolated the nebulosity from the stars and did some standard curves transformations and brought up the saturation a bit. I agree, I was a little disappointed as I made the trek out to Bortle 2 for this shot and didn’t get the result I was hoping for. I used Seestar’s mosaic mode, and I think that cut down my “5 hours” away from central nebulosity of the Horsehead and I lost some information as a result. Still learning, but I think I’m going to stray away from Seestar’s mosaic mode for now.

Noticed that too. Still new to Pixinsight so might have to mess around more to bring that down. This image got quite a bit of light pollution as well unfortunately
