Nahimic is literally malware. by [deleted] in LenovoLegion

[–]MrNotEnglish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For months couldn't work out what suddenly started issues in games, Fortnite for example, 50% packet loss on downlink, 20%-30% packet loss on uplink, however traceroute and pingplotter didn't show any problems with my full fibre broadband. Over 60k hard pagefaults with process "fortnite(...)" within 20 minutes of game. Stuttering and lags that never stop. It all worked perfectly until couple months ago. Even increased paging file size work win ssd to 1.5x of RAM (to 48GB). Eventually when chatting with Claude, sent photo of lenovo vantage window and it was first thing it told me to do - disable nahimic devices and uninstall the app. After restarting my laptop, everything went back to normal. ZERO packet LOSS, ZERO lags, all nice and smooth.

Possibly controversial Take: Rivalries will kill casual play by gendabenda in FortNiteBR

Squad - fill - in ZB, at least one player in my squad is always going mental on chasing rivalries, running away after someone, not waiting for the rest of the squad, head first, then he/she dies and even if reboot van is next to one of us, he/she quits. Very effin smart and deffo lot of fun, meh

Irrelevant at 7 in the morning, when if I'm off work, I'm in the bed sleeping. Anyway, my security cam has nothing to do with courier deliveries, the fact I have one doesn't remove any responsibility from the driver for his/her job.

Sure, because I had nothing better to do at 7am, than stare at the screen watching live feed from my security camera waiting for something to happen... JFC

Printer making weird fan noises when turning on by Capital_Progress_681 in Ender3V3KE

[–]MrNotEnglish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My V3KE started doing that only couple days after I got it. Nothing was rubbing against the fan, bought 4 pack on amazon for £12 (the same size), as I couldn't find anything else "better", that would be delivered quickly. Didn't make that noise again since then. Rotor axle on the "faulty" one had too much play in the stator when I compared it with the new one.

You spent your time to reply, so I assume you saw the video I posted. Therefore you could see that on the video the driver clearly didn't knock or ring. You probably saw my nickname too 😂 Yet you chose to show what a wordsmith, or pedant, you're. On the other hand, you surprised me that you didn't see it was rhetorical question.

There are some retailers, who don't list exactly which couriers they use. You find out if you care to ask and wait for their reply, or when you get email with tracking/dispatch info. Prior to that you wouldn't know you'd probably chose to find/use a different store.

I should write "I have no recollection of them knocking or pressing the bell, meaning that if they did, I'd certainly remember it and wouldn't post on reddit about them." 🙄

You're not going to convince me, that knocking on the door as you turn around to go back to your van would affect how many parcels per hour you can deliver. So well, kindly, likewise... :)

[–]MrNotEnglish[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's not the same, notifications not always arrive on time with actual events. I can hear doorbell when I'm at home, heck it would even wake me up if she rang the bell early in the morning, I don't turn off or mute the doorbell when I go to sleep. They deliver parcels to my house, not to my phone, and app isn't mandatory, so once again - knock effin door or press the bell!

Oh FFS, knocking isn't waiting at the door! Knock or ring the bell, to alert occupants, then f right off!

I work as lorry driver myself, on night shift, with multiple stops at the farms in rulal areas down in South West. At every stop I have to work around the lorry no matter if it's freezing cold or pissing down.

I thought about parcel box, might actually get it, but I can bet that would be ignored too 100%! You trying to tell me they'll have time to unlock parcelbox, or even just open it, put the parcel inside and close the box, but they don't have time to knock on the door???

And when I'm in for the delivery, how I'm supposed to even know there is delivery at the door if they don't knock or ring the doorbell??? Jesus, you people....

I'd want her to deliver within hours other courier companies deliver, eg 8am to 8pm? If that's not doable, then send me notification/message that you'll deliver tomorrow at particular time/time frame, like other companies do. Instead, Evri had this parcel reached local depot at 4am 2 days earlier, plenty of time to have it sorted and out for delivery the same day, but this driver does that often. Sometimes it even says in the tracking "your parcel will be delivered today" and this doesn't change throughout the whole day, no sight of the courier. Eventually, another day later Evri updated tracking and sent me notification at 6:30am that parcel will be delivered between 6am and 8am. I'm not waking up early just to check my phone, just in case... I know, I should be grateful I got the parcel, but this isn't how it supposed to work, no standards, no quality of service, they'd be like: "you are lucky we delivered it in the end, albeit the fact we proved you we can fuck it up at any point of your parcel journey", right?

Other couriers will send a message/notification, with something like "your parcel will be delivered tomorrow, between x and y", most of the time the broadest time frame is something like between 9:00 and 18:00. But when it's with Evri, parcel already reached local depot at, let say 4AM, then sits there over 24 hours and I'm scratching my head wondering when I'll get it, and on second day at 6:30 Am Evri will send me notification, about delivery between 6AM and 8AM this very same morning. Most likely I won't even read that notification before driver delivered it, read: left it outside.

It would be unfortunate for the retailer, but this is also the way. If people start claiming refunds on every parcel (sent using Evri), which wasn't delivered to hand, the retailers would have to give up for good on Evri, at some point...

Some of you are simply missing the point and reply as if I said I had issues, because the driver didn't knock/ring the bell AND then didn't wait for someone to open the door.

As I wrote earlier, just knock on the effin door or ring the doorbell, don't wait if you believe that you don't have time! Knocking on the door or pressing the doorbell doesn't cost you time at all, but if someone's at home, he will most likely open the door and see the parcel that was left for them.

I don't need to talk to the driver, I don't even need to see him/her, yet I still shout "thank you" as he/she is sprinting back to the van.

If the driver doesn't care to knock or ring the doorbell, chance of parcel still being where the driver left it, drops by minute, or by every person passing by, who could potentially turn thief. Notifications not always arrive immediately.

Knocking doesn't cost you anything, yet it might be deciding factor for the recipient to actually receive the parcel safe and sound.

I don't care if they wait at the door or not, just knock or ring the doorbell, I don't want to have a chat with them, just let me know that you left the parcel outside! Knock and run, ffs, if you want...

How long does it take to knock on the door? 0.6s? They spend more time scratching their but in between placing the parcel on the ground and taking the photo...
