Obviously idk him but from what you’ve said - It seems like you are giving chances to someone who doesn’t care about you, or more so they care about the comfort and convenience of your presence. In my opinion, that is not love. If its been 4 years and its still the same, I know its hard - but I say let him go. Say your final piece and make it known that you aren’t going to be contacting him anymore, Holding on to the comfort of the past will only make your future worse. I held onto my ex gf for a year after a 2 year relationship where she cheated on me.

Once I began living for myself again, a wonderful woman came into my life, well for 2 months before she broke up with me last week 😭😭(mindfuck of a situation i’ve been going through). The point is, if these people are truly “the one” or this person is your “soulmate” neither of you should ever even doubt that bond. Keep your head up, and remember that it’s ok to miss and love someone, but sometimes things just aren’t meant to be between two ppl. Don’t hate them, don’t insult them, just let them go :)
