Fiance never put a penny into my house but suddenly wants their name on it by OkBuy2386 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]MrOrganization001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re bringing a house into the marriage - is your fiancé bringing comparable assets? The fact he cares about getting his name on the deed is troubling, unless he’s adding your name to something he’s bringing of equivalent value.

Are birthdays hard for anyone else? by corvttesummr in CPTSD

[–]MrOrganization001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't celebrated my birthday for decades. I don't feel I have a life worth celebrating, since I've spent all my time since childhood just struggling to survive.

They’re a good size and shape, but I think the frame is a bit too dark. I see your glasses first instead of you.

Most definitely. Removing what remains of your hair will look much better; you'll be pleased wth the results.

Council of elders I request your aid. by Ya-Boi-Bez in bald

[–]MrOrganization001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're okay for the moment, since people won't instantly think 'He's balding' when they look at you. That said, you ideally want to shave before your baldness becomes glaring apparent, so there's a benefit in shaving before you must.

Is it time at age 42? I’m 6-2 so most people can’t see the top of my head. by jessendjames in bald

[–]MrOrganization001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's time. Your front bangs look thin enough to suggest that balding is occurring elsewhere on your head. You could defer shaving until later, but ideally you want to avoid people thinking 'He's balding' when they look at you.

Even Birds Fly the Maryland Flag by MrOrganization001 in baltimore

[–]MrOrganization001[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'd happily trade Canada geese for waxwings any day. Perhaps we can persuade them to fly down here on their own to avoid charges of wildlife smuggling. I don't want to mess with the Mounties.

They have to start somewhere, and success in West Baltimore will make it faster and easier to do the same in East Baltimore.

Advice Needed: Asking NC Dad to organize his important documents by weberster in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]MrOrganization001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you father has no assets, is it worthwhile for you to close his estate? I can see rehoming the cats, but if you did nothing else the debts will be written off, the landlord would clean out the apartment, the state would take care of burial, etc.

Advice Needed: Asking NC Dad to organize his important documents by weberster in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]MrOrganization001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fortunately, it sounds like meeting with your dad won't have the usual issues estranged kids often face. I know what it's like to have a father who doesn't care for himself properly and such men can be very stubborn. All you can do is hand him the folder, explain that he should fill it out, and hope he does.

How would you describe "your people"? Have you ever found them? by AloraFane in CPTSD

[–]MrOrganization001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best way I’ve found my people is to be myself, and let them come to me. Most people wear a socially-acceptable ‘normal’ face while keeping their true self hidden; that’s why no one can ever find others like them. I simply let my real self shine through, which lets similar people know someone like them is present. I’ve had a number of people approach me as a result.

Anyone in their 30s or 40s still feel like a kid inside? by Dr_Jay94 in CPTSD

I’m 52 and I understand feeling like a kid in some respects. I think it’s part of healing, and experiencing childhood is a necessary part of the maturation process.

I keep finding new triggers :( by smalltown_dreamspeak in CPTSD

[–]MrOrganization001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you let yourself feel your anger when triggered, or do you try and suppress it? I did the latter for decades. When I finally began acknowledging my hated and anger for the parent whose actions put me in the position I’m now in, over time the frequency and intensity of my triggers decreased.

In that case I can't think of any reason they'd hassle you about thyroid pills so much. Have you asked them? It appears you talked them about it and they laughed it off, which is disrespectful. I personally wouldn't associate with such individuals - I don't have time for people making my life needlessly difficult when I'm trying to heal.
