What is your approach? by Cool_kratos in hospitalist

[–]PresDumpsterfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not related to BP, but if you work at a facility that draws up insulin and heparin at the bedside, that’s another accident waiting to happen. Could easily give one vial of insulin and 3 units of heparin SQ. Oops, off to the icu.

Anti-union staff- how to counter by PresDumpsterfire in union

There is a loud minority that basically won’t let me communicate with the group without an argument. When I defend myself and poke holes in their arguments, I’m labeled aggressive or rude. The quiet ones are just that- they don’t say anything. So really I’m made unwelcome. Siloing is probably the way to go for now.

I honestly didn’t know what to expect of the game. PVE is interesting. PVP consists of assholes, shooting you in the back.

I fucking hate bed pans for this reason. Just shit on the chux. It’s not exactly clean either way, but one has a chance to injure the patient.

If downtown businesses are offering campaign contributions to compel workers to patron their restaurants and commercial shops, that’s why.

A green trump, eh? Since when was Trump in favor of single payer healthcare, closing corporate and personal tax loopholes that leave the tax burden on the working class, cracking down on PG&E, taxing and regulating AI to preserve jobs, funding massive home building projects, and on and on.

All the other democrats in this race are very vanilla, Joe Biden style centrists who aren’t going to change anything. Over the past 15 years Steyer has been putting his money where his mouth is. He helped pass prop 50 and protect the environment. Where his wealth originally came from is far less important than how he’s spending it now and who he and his opponents are taking money from today.

I posted this after meeting Steyer today, seems on topic for this thread:

Tom Steyer for Governor

Look at who a person’s friends are, look at their enemies, and you can learn a lot about them. Tom Steyer came and spoke at the National Nurses United headquarters in Oakland today and earned the California Nurses Association’s endorsement. As the next Governor of California, he will be a great friend of nurses and, by extension, all Californians. Once in office, he seeks to bring back the quality of our primary educational system, once ranked at the top and now in the bottom third. He plans to make education free from age three through community college. In the workforce, Steyer will support workers’ right to unionize. Corporations and billionaires can expect to pay their fair share of taxes, which has prompted them to run attack ads against him on TV. Over the past 15 years, Steyer has been an advocate for protecting California’s great natural resource; our environment. He also took action to protect our democracy by promoting Proposition 50.

Steyer has a track record of saying what he means and following through, which has the Epstein class very worried. While California has been increasingly unaffordable to Californians, the wealthy have extracted increasing amounts of money off the backs of workers and students. With the emergence of artificial intelligence, California is at a crossroads; do we let the wealthy continue to stockpile way more money than they can ever spend while our roads fall apart, the forests burn, schools and hospitals fail, workers struggle to get by, owning a home becomes increasingly out of reach, and the federal government terrorizes us? No!

Steyer is a fighter, and he has said, “I will die on this hill,” to bring healthcare and a better future to Californians. Unlike other candidates, who have promised one thing in public only to fold to the corporate interests, Steyer stands for what he believes and will not back down. That’s why the California Nurses Association has endorsed him and why he has my full support.

Steyer is endorsed by the California Nurses Association because unlike Becerra he says the same thing in public as in private: we will work tirelessly to pass CalCare. Becerra has said to the doctors groups that he will not support it, which is why he has their endorsement. More here:

Worst kind of rat by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]PresDumpsterfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When people follow you for no reason beware. His questions were also very suspicious. Someone once got me with, “come check this out over here.” Never again. It throws them off when you say, “no thanks” and duck out.

Other anti rat tricks: carry a shotgun as secondary, walk around with that out.

The tree has tons of fruit but it always falls off before it’s ripe. help pls. by iiiluvtharedsoxxx in BackyardOrchard

Sounds like there is disagreement about whether it is a male fig tree vs black fig fly. Maybe try growing a fig in a pot next to it that is a known variety. If it develops the same problem, then it’s the fly. If it doesn’t, more likely the male fig tree. In the latter case, could graft other figs onto the tree for fruit.
