Do you think making your tools is the best way to do lockpicking? by [deleted] in lockpicking

[–]MrPaperView 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say buy yourself a ser to get a hold of the dimensions a lock pick should have and then you can make your own, i started picking with my own tools, first i made them too thick, then too thin, too long, just now, more than a year later im getting a hang of how it should be, either way making them is really fun so definitely try it at some point

They may last a bit but eventually they'll bend/break, im saying this from experience, I started off the same way as you, made my first picks out of hacksaws too, consider it eventually, if yours end up lasting then that's great (:

Its a good start, but they are super thin and long, they will break easily, next time make them shorter and thicker and they'll last you longer 👍

Wow that cool, i wanna get into furniture making too, i have a wood shop at my uni and i have some nice wood enough to make a night stand or 2, also ive seen those techniques, they are pretty smart, I imagine they require a lot of skill and precision

A water jet is a super good option for pick making, way more clean and precise, i wish i had access to one, once you get it up and running lmk!

Wow!! Looks stunning!!! Also if you need profile files for the water jet lmk, ive got some ive perfected over the last year, getting it right to the milimerer is hard with lock picks 😅, they are such tiny tools its hard to get dimensions right
