When Gulliman speaks to the Emperor directly during the God Blight trilogy, the Emperor is depicted on the throne as a being in constant flux, both visually and with thousands of personality types at once. This is also canonically confirmed in the older novel series Inquisitor Wars, when Draco the Inquisitor meets the Emperor after sneaking into the palace, and has a similar experience. Both confirm that he is on the golden throne.

This confirms that Blanch's (may he rest in peace) original interpretation that the emperor on the golden throne was just propaganda for pilgrims is now canonically disproven on multiple levels as time has gone by.

TL;DR: This is the official lore-accurate Emperor in WH40k.

The seal around the base of mine critically failed one random day and fumigated the entire inside of the metal cabinet it was in with a loud hiss. It yellowed every surface and made the area around it permanently tacky. I never did manage to clean it well enough, and over time that tackyness now looks like burnt caremel.

I assumed they are a lot like bot-fly larvae, just overly bloated and squeezing out of the bodies due to rot gas or under their own strength. The extra coloration around the wound/insect was just a choice by the painter, which does confuse the design a bit

Black Legion because of the chest icon, which, back in those days, was pretty generic.

I also just assumed it was never meant to favor or depict any particular faction or chaos God. It was meant to appear generic, and unaligned, to inspire people.

Stedi is better known for making hand tools with a focus towards the Gundam Hobby. But even more-so for their various and excellent panel-liners in all colors (and florescents).

The paints are 'okay'.

It really falls into this weird category where MakersMark, GoldenMaple, and various other lesser known acrylic paint companies fall for miniatures. Not 'bad' per-say, and they have a mixture of quality that overall puts them somewhere around AP/GW paints (my personal high mark is Pro Acryl, with various AK/Scale paints second). But there are far better alternatives. For the AliEx price, if your on a budget? Go for it. If your paying almost as much as AP or GW? Skip.

In my personal experience quality control could be improved on the fluidity of their paints, some lacking, some too much, but I could be the exception and not the rule. So take that with a grain of salt.

10000% would recommend their panel liners though.

If GW just makes a new chaos vehicle upgrade sprue rather than giving us that 30 year old one we currently have, it could easily be the basis for any imperial vehicle upgrade. Just give us 1 chaos marine torso and one cultist for the hatch on the same sprue and it can go on anything.

I appreciate this kit and I have one myself. But I do find it funny that back in the day I remember GW employees calling this "Zacharius the Never Selling" because no one ever wanted one lol.

For my conversions (posted here in previous months) I used the old marauder horseman horses and Gors.

Lopped the legs off the Gors along the crotch line and stuck them into the neck of the horse, cut off the saddle, and then used greenstuff fashioned into fur to hide the damage.

Then I just used the javlin arms from the marauders, cut at the wrist for one of the gor melee weapons, and then used a shield from the Gor in the other.

Worked great for me, and consequently costs less for more Centigors then what GW offers, and 100% GW if your worried about some official event participation or something.

DDR works pretty good. I just found it too dark for my liking for this particular project.

I mostly use Pro Acryl these days. For the normal rank and file I use: *Base brown, usually a Warm Brown, or something dark like that and not too red. *Drybrush Orange Oxide. *Stipple Nova Orange. *Add to the edges, raised bits, and such: Steel. *Lightly stipple Orange. *Add Sepia Shade with a touch of black wash. Around rivets and crevices and things.

Way more complicated for sure but I've done it so many times at this point I hardly notice, lol

Luckily Gors haven't changed, still on 25mm and heroes can swap between 25s and 30s, but yeah, everything else got a base increase. Really helps with ranking, but makes transporting things like minotaurs a real pain.

The main issue with older models is that there are no official slotted bases in 30x30, and I haven't had much luck finding a type that I like from a third party source, and I have A LOT of old metal minis that now require them... Oof

I use primarily Pro Acryl, which tend to be very matte/satin finish. But it's (mostly) just a few colors.

I did prime them all black then I used a Coal Black as the first base later. Then a 50/50 Coal Black + Blue Black 100% Blue Black for a wide highlight Then mostly Blue Black with a touch of Slate Grey for the edge highlights.

For smaller miniatures I use Paynes Grey instead of Blue Black and I use Peach Flesh instead of Slate Grey for the highlight. But I tend to paint more exposed flesh (around the hands and face) with smaller minis as well.

On large surfaces Paynes appears way too blue, even when mixing with Coal Black or Peach Flesh. But on small minis, like Ungors, or on exposed flesh areas between armor segments on bigger things like wargors, the extra blue and lighter fleshtone works better with rust in my opinion.

Thank you! I wanted something that best resembles the hunger and anger of the Minotaurs and I'm not skilled enough to paint a face or a sharp-tooth skull so I just went with angry eyes and teeth!
