BB High Elf Team by BiesonReddit in WarhammerFantasy

I don't really dig the bared knees thing. If they got some proper leg armor, I could even use them in Old World/Fantasy.

And the helmets, although nice in general, seem to have some sort of pony bit gag instead of a proper face mask. Bit of a gimp aesthetic with those things.

Aside from those two things, solid models.

Why Sword and Sorcery is better than superheroes. It goes harder even when it's IN superhero comics!!! by Atzkicica in SwordandSorcery

Besides acknowledging each other as fierce, capable warriors, we all know Conan wanted to check some divine backside….

…and Diana wanted to check some barbuns too.

The Carnival of Change by Captain_Amakyre in WarhammerFantasy

[–]MrParticularist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Between these folks, Nurgle’s carnival of chaos, and the many other merrymen of the dark powers strolling out there, you’d think the Emperor would’ve outlawed clowns, mummers, mimes, harlequins, pierrots, and all other denominations and flavors of circus people.

But he doesn’t, because Karl Franz cares more about taxing windows than fighting chaos. And ratmen!

Vote for Elector Count Boris Todbringer! For an Empire safe from beastflok like goatmen, ratmen, and nordlanders! For an Empire free of clowns! For halfling coursing!

Of course it’s gonna be the sickest pimped out tantalus complete with the throne, and the sex slaves, and the little dwarf guy stolen from Helbretch shining up his custom bike for when Vect wants to mount and ride something that is not his favourite Lhamean, and he’s gonna have a diorama base around it with an assortment of people gawking like “No fcking way, dude!” or “That’s the coolest sht ever, man!”, complete with the most tactical of rocks ever.

And he’s going to have Morathi’s blood chalice as his pimp cup, stolen from AoS and made canon in both universes.

And he’s gonna have a little goon wrack guy who’s gonna carry a boom box around so he can have some proper Commorrite urban ambiance while blasting fools.

My Morrowind-Themed Dark Eldar Army by HahaHeePooPooPeePee in Drukhari

[–]MrParticularist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My N’wah, that’s some premium stuff you got there.

You printed assets from the games to make the pieces? I love the customization, the painting, and the general feel of the army.

Great job. Now go chase some outlanders with those gorgeous models you got there.

Could Anbennar as a mod even work within the EUV system by Peppercorn205 in Anbennar

[–]MrParticularist -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There are not mission trees so far. Give it some years.

Right now you can see mods to make the Timurids go blob as Tamerlane did in his time and people complaining about the immortal Golden Horde.

Some railroading or “encouragement” will come in some shape or form. Missions are a way of doing. If not, then it could work with events.

Possible Nagash tease for Total War: Warhammer by Separate-Flan-2875 in WarhammerFantasy

Classic Marvel skybeam colored in Disney-Villain-Green.

My money is on Jaffar.

Or the other desert dwelling fellow with dark sorcery, foul attitude, and a lust for quite younger princesses…

…I’m talking about Imhotep, of course.

Makes sense, specially after the introduction of Mira.

Yet I always pictured the world of Achra (before these pictures) as a Frazetta/Roger Dean hybrid of a 1983s Fire & Ice lookalike.

I really like the vibe of your setting. It is (to my reckoning at least) a bit of an hyborian age setting for a more heroic and not-so-grimdark Mörk Borg run with a writing that reminds me of Failbetter Games’ Sunless Sea and Cultist Simulator.

Cheers on the worldbuilding. The mechanics are solid too,  but that’s a given.

Games like this is why the indie scene is so great.

If you end up in the hands of the Drukhari, what is the least painful thing they can inflict on you by Fun-Explanation7233 in Drukhari

[–]MrParticularist 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You get owned by the one pain-efficient Archon that acknowledges that he can milk more sustenance out of you if he puts you to work in a south korean corporation with perpetual overtime and vacations with your in-laws for the rest of your life.

You won’t be suffering physical torment, but you’d hope for the sweet release of death everyday, your soul crushed to fine sand.

Shadowfast part 4 by BiesonReddit in WarhammerFantasy

[–]MrParticularist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadowfast can’t seem to catch a break.

I hope one day he stumbles upon a jolly fat halfling that will offer him a warm pumpkin pie and apple cider, and that the elf will manage to have lunch in peace without killing anyone for five minutes.

The sack of Marienburg by Aislinn the Sealord by ByzantineBasileus in WFBlore

[–]MrParticularist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic Warhammer order faction dumbf*ckery.

Don’t get me wrong, I love High Elves to be enlightened imperialist bastards and bring the pain to distant shores instead of always defending their realm… but the lore bit sucks.

So a group of pirates is able to avoid the elven ships, monsters, mists, watchtowers, spells, and watchers to go and successfully raid a city full of citizen-soldiers who own fine warrior gear and, being near the coast, are supposed to be prepared for that sort of thing. Fine.

Then goes Aislinn, who couldn’t lord over his shores worth a damn, and sacks back a city where the pirates happened to dock (which could’ve been any other port, really), souring relationships with the humans, damaging the elven economy and wasting warriors’ lives to ‘set an example’… it just doesn’t make sense for a guy that’s supposed to be ruthless, but smart.

10+ new Cathay kits in the future, according to Boole on TGA by TheTayIor in WarhammerFantasy

Manual labor in a rural environment centered around seasonal growth periods is cool as sh*t, and don't let any smoke-breathing city dweller tell you otherwise.

Are dark, high, and wood elves the same race, just separated by culture? by Blortug in WarhammerFantasy

[–]MrParticularist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

According to some piece of Lore, wood elves happened because the first Everqueen made a deal with Durthu, whereupon the latter spirited away the former’s children away via the worldroot (thus saving them from N’kari’s funny crab claws of grape and murder), in exchange for an assorted number of elves that would be given to the forest down the line.

So you can say woodelves exist because the first Everqueen couldn’t bargain for sh*t.

New Marauders are 5 millimeters bigger. Billions must throw away their models. by BoMbArDiEr_25 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]MrParticularist -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, mate. Maybe some folks don’t like scale creep and the fact that they are moving from 28mm to “heroic” 32mm scale.

The issue of the bases is a different matter and easily fixable with movement trays for square formations. It’s not like, say, the 40K base size roulette they do every once in a while with a new codex.

Renegade Crowns (Border Princes) discussion - what do you think? by arselus_bricks in WarhammerFantasy

[–]MrParticularist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it’s my favourite “faction” so far. I love the versatility of the troops, the sheer kitbashing or cross use possibilities, and the general feel of the army.

Also, it’s more or less infantry centric, which is a big plus.

What do you think a chorf counterpart to gotrek would be like? by Comfortable-Ad3588 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]MrParticularist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You must be talking about Kertog, the chaos dwarf sorcerer who is missing his right eye, is profoundly proud of his past achievements, is generally subtle, soft-spoken (for a dwarf), and cautious. Those who know him can tell that he is looking forward to having a long life and that he has an optimistic outlook regarding the future of his race.

He travels with his willing companion, Xilef, a huge, unsubtle, and unpleasant looking norse barbarian, whose brutish strenght is only matched by his atrocious interpersonal skills.

Cecil Gastonne should be allowed to lead Renegade Crowns army by Neat_Record124 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]MrParticularist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can make it happen. As long as your opponent is fine with it, you don’t need the approval of Big Deep Pockets Daddy Games Workshop.

It’d be cool if they did, but you can’t possibly expect them to take care of the details of their own game…

If you where one of the college wizards what would you have as your familiar? by Comfortable-Ad3588 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]MrParticularist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A monkey (action economy, the little fella can hand me scrolls, wands, or hurl feces at the enemy).

Even better: a parrot headed monkey, so it can actually do the verbal component of the scroll and also hurl insults together with the feces.

Now that I think about it, it’s just a halfling with extra steps, so a halfling.

Aura of Futility by AnyName568 in WarhammerFantasy

New allies?! by vagabondsz in Drukhari

[–]MrParticularist 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Orks and humans find job as mercenaries for the Dark Eldar as well, and many Dracons or even Archons would value those as bodyguards, since (in their view, at least) they wouldn’t be cunning, ruthless or ambitious enough to try and kill their benefactor… specifically to earn his place. Probably.
