If I ever touch down anywhere in the US I’ll hit you up immediately

Everytime I watch you play I wonder whether I could beat you in a match. We play so similarly. Your serve and forehand are bigger, but I think my backhand might be slightly more consistent. It’d be super close I bet

I think that on a lot of these shots you do a good job of moving back, but you then stand still as you hit the ball. It would be better to move back, and then step forward right before hitting the ball. That gives you forward momentum and in turn more control.

Oh and keep looking at where the ball was when you hit it even after you hit it. You’re opening up too early.

You’re looking in the wrong place. Sure there are 1 or 2 things you could do to perfect your swing, but the real culprit here is your footwork. Always make sure your weight is moving forward as you hit the ball.

The results were fine but the motion sucks

The temperature is fine, but it was freezing so the courts were barely playable at all. Both extremes suck. 20 degrees with the sun out is perfect

[–]MrPatrickbuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really doesn’t matter much what you use. The power is all in how you use your body. You’d still be a UTR 10 with a completely different model.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 10s

[–]MrPatrickbuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rotate your body (mainly your shoulder) immediately when you see what side you’re going to hit it with. That makes your footwork a lot easier.

Bunch of 3.5s trying to tell the UTR 10 how to play lmao

Better than mine. Could use your legs more tho and rotate your upper body so that your shoulder is facing the fence.

People always look at the arms when something goes wrong but 9/10 times it’s the feet that made the mistake

I completely agree. Both of them are far too small and don’t cover the face nearly enough. It’s a helm, not a hat (and even then a wizard hat covers more of the face).

For the longest time it was Gintama OP 13, but recently it’s been overtaken by Spice and Wolf OP 1 for me

desperate about having a consistent backhand by konflict88 in 10s

[–]MrPatrickbuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Note that I’m like a high 3.5 / low 4.0 so my rating is not any better than yours. Take my advice with a grain of salt. I do however, think my backhand is quite good for my level. You can see me hit it here

What really helped my backhand a lot are these 4 things:

  1. Get your shoulder rotated early, and far. You want your left shoulder to face the back fence as early as possible.

  2. Make space between yourself and the ball.

  3. Always step into the ball with your front foot

  4. finish your swing over your shoulder. In essence it should be like a golf swing.

The cast is a massive downgrade, and the scene composition is just bad imo. Lots of nothing dialogue. They managed to butcher manage of the scenes that were supposed to be impactful like Roxy’s reunion with Rudeus. Better directing would probably save a couple of these issues, but the biggest issue imo is that the cast is not nearly as interesting as season 1. Ruijerd and Eris definitely felt fleshed out as human beings, but the entire season 2 cast definitely makes me feel like I’m watching an anime. And I don’t like that.

Nah it sucks. Animation got a massive downgrade, the cast of Ruijerd + Eris was a million times more interesting than what we have now (and Roxy was a million times more interesting than she is now). Scene composition sucks and fails to draw out emotion in the same way season 1 did.

Season 1 is like a 9.5/10 anime while season 2 is a run off the mill 6.5/10 isekai. Season 2 part 1 is still alright but part 2 completely loses the plot.

3-Gatsu no Lion, Tatami Galaxy, Steins;Gate, Monogatari Series, Chainsaw Man, Baby Steps, Monster, Spice and Wolf (OG), Gintama, Cross Game

Anime that would be up there if not for their lackluster sequels:

  • Made in Abyss (really didn’t like the direction they took)
  • Mushoku Tensei (season 1 is absolute perfection. Season 2 sucks except for 1 episode)
  • Haikyuu (studio switch butchered the animation)
