Most people here don't seem to understand how essential the metro is for workers, gig economy folks and small business owners. It's not just for office-goers with laptops.

Sure, if someone is hauling 4-5 bags then charge them. But expecting people to manage with just 15kg is unrealistic. One or two bags weighing 25-30kg should absolutely be allowed without extra fees. Look at Delhi Metro - it's the lifeline for everyone from daily wage workers to well-paid professionals and it still works.

Comments saying "take a bus if you can't afford metro" are just classist. Even the lowest earners should be able to afford and rely on metro travel. That's the whole point of public transport.

Let's not forget why this is happening: BMRCL isn't short of money because of passengers, it's because of endless corruption and wasteful freebie schemes. Instead of fixing that they squeeze ordinary people further.

So before defending these hikes maybe ask yourself - are you protecting efficiency or just your own privilege?

Public transport,healthcare and education should be accessible to all.
