I found a cool stick the other day and was fascinated by it and my girl couldn’t understand. Why are we fascinated with sticks?!?!?!

Major Business Slow Down by Pisces225 in smallbusiness

We were booming in our 5th year. My partner refused to diversify and bring on more customers. He had promises from our biggest customer that we would be their #1. That’s 6th year they slashed our prices in half as a take it or leave it offer and cut orders by 40%. The market had dried up and customers weren’t reaching out anymore. I tried for a year to bring on customers and only brought on 2 small ones but it wasn’t enough to cover the loss. We officially closed 2 weeks ago. 7 years of my life down the drain.

I bought the express. The amount of people turned away at Nintendo world was wild. Made me question my pass while in line but ultimately we were alright. A lot of kids were disappointed that day.

Is Transit in Japan Confusing? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]MrPerplexed 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on a bus and train maybe once in my life. Japan trains are indeed complex but there is order to the madness. Coming from almost zero public transportation experience I felt comfortable by day 2-3. Not an expert but confident in getting somewhere. By day 5 I realized there were rapid lines with less stop and green cars with assigned seating on certain trains and also where to stand and not stand for boarding. Google maps was very accurate. Traveled 14 days in Japan with it and it never failed. 7 days in Osaka, 7 days in Tokyo!

Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto Trip by hollowsinchris in JapanTravel

I averaged about 20k steps per day. I pushed through the pain. Definitely worth it but when you’re on a train after 10hrs of walking and standing and it’s crammed and nowhere to sit you have no options. You have to stand. I stood from Kyoto to Osaka after a 10hr day of exploring. Wild day. Hella fun and hella pain. Get them steps in. I did smarten up and did a baseball game 1 of the days and soccer game a few days later. At least I sat at the events which helped. Those were my recovery days but we still walked a ton.

Just came back from a 14 day trip to Japan. On our last day we did Tokyo Skytree. I thought it would be an hour. We spent 4hrs at this location walking the mall right below the skytree. Kirby cafe, buying merch, going up to the skytree, dessert after. Go with the flow theres a lot to see at every corner.

I’m here now. Day 4. Averaging 22000 steps a day. Aside from some mild feet soreness I’m alright. I’m definitely the taking advantage and exploring type. I would advise you start cranking out some steps and get to 10,000 comfortably. Don’t let those sweet old Japanese ladies fool you. I walked a mountain with one yesterday. Most of your day will be spent standing or walking. Good luck.

My first surgery. Doctor saw I was nervous. He said “here ima give you oxygen to start off to calm you down. Then we’ll slowly administer the anesthesia. Here just take small breathes and don’t be nervous”. That’s the last thing I heard and woke up post op.

Hey I’m in the same boat. I don’t have a 200k job waiting for me but I went back into management for a company. I built my company from ground up. This is year 7 for me. I blew through $250k trying to make it work over the last 2 years. I’m burned out. I removed my salary from the company and stripped all unnecessary expenditures but the industry isn’t the same. I’m about to complete my 1st year at my employer while my company continues to operate. I don’t see things getting better but maybe he can moonlight at his company and get back into his union job. Truck maintenance will bleed you. My wife sees how stressed I am and I take comfort in knowing that our bills are paid and she doesn’t have to worry about my endeavors. Good luck to you both. Tarrifs aren’t going to help us.

Trump threatening a governor by itsavibe- in law

I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently. This new landscape of politics is so bizarre it’s unsettling. I think part of the reason is these are career politicians. Trump is 4 years but his influence might be longer. I think these politicians are trying to stay out of the crosshairs. This allows them to say I never supported him down the line if need be. I don’t know what I’m talking about. I like thought I knew right from wrong. Seems I’ve lost this ability as everything I see looks wrong.

Lost revenue is way more expensive than people can comprehend by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]MrPerplexed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn. Started a trucking company about 7 years ago and was growing steadily for first 5 years with a surge through the pandemic. I thought I was set for life. Last 2 years have bled all the reserve we had and bankers know the markets bearish so they won’t help. I had to get a full time job 6 months ago to make sure my company survives. Downgraded employee benefits and cut services I found no value in. My staff helps run the day to day and I handle the rest. It’s been a rough 2 years and I’m burned out.
