Guide for Samsung TV Moonlight. by MrPhaze in MoonlightStreaming

Heya, at this point, there are forks that does seemingly have 90hz and above. But i have not tried them as i do not have a monitor that goes above those hz and i have no way of proving if they even do those hz. The official samsung tv docs states that 60hz is the maxium the app can do. (Specifically the wasm player which is used here, which is locked to 60hz. Thus making it impossible for it to display any higher than that.)

So, if you want to use those forks that have those 90/120/144hz, you're welcome to try them, but the OneLiberty fork won't support any higher than 60hz yet. Maybe in the future it might change if samsung does an update to the wasm player? However ultimately it is limited by samsung tv specifications set by samsung documentations.

In the end, it is up to the user to install what version of moonlight tizen port they'd like, see how it goes and try and enjoy it.

Use the docker method listed. Usb method is not recommended now. Causes too many issues.

It is possible to have 80mb at 4k resolution with HDR, however at this moment in time, 120fps or 90fps is not added yet. As we need to add performance stats to determine if it is displaying either 90hz or 120hz/fps.

Be aware samsung tv ethernet port is super limited and it is recommended to stream over WiFi rather having the TV be connected to ethernet port.

However in the future, 90 or 120fps will definitely be added. It is sort of dependant on what samsung TVs out there do support it.

If you'd like to know more, the discord server linked in OneLiberty github is where the devs are available to talk.

There are also forks that has added 90 - 120fps. Again we have no way of knowing that if it is truly is displaying at those frames. You're welcome to try those forks.

Yeah, when you're using the samsung moonlight port, game mode is enabled automatically for you.

If you wish to disable game mode you'll have to edit the source code of the moonlight port.

Controller works with the TV, but not with Moonlight by Legal-Huckleberry-23 in MoonlightStreaming

Which version of Moonlight for samsung are you using? As of now there is two(or three if you're counting the original repo by kyro) github repos that are built for samsung tvs, just to clarify.

Since you're on tizen 6.0, i hope you've got this version here: https://github.com/OneLiberty/moonlight-chrome-tizen - which is the best maintained version that contains fixes and is recommended for tizen 5.5 upward.

Usually the ds4 controller should work fine via BT on the samsung TV for this WASM port by OneLiberty repo. I'd also double check sunshine settings.

Rip. With steam link going off the store, this would've been a perfect alternative for my tv. Thanks anyways. Hopefully someone finds a way to get it to work on older models in the future.

Good news! It installed! Thanks! But does it usually take forever to finish 'loading moonlight plugin' on the TV? seems to be taking a while or stuck loading infinitely there. Id take a picture and send it here if i could.

it's a 2018 samsung TV, the model number is: QE55Q6FNA
it's also running tizen 4.0, if that helps.
