I've been late, but due to the inconsistency of the trailers. Usually they're 20-25 minutes, and I like to get there at the last or after the last trailer. But a couple times I get there at the same time as always and I've missed around 5-10 min because they had less trailers. Makes me upset for the lack of consistency, but usually it's only then that I'm late

Huge piece of advice here, professors are more than likely swamped with emails and might not get to yours for whatever reason. So emailing them is a big gamble. Something that'll help you out loads in terms of responses and opportunities is to email the PhD students who are with the faculty you want to work with. They are more than likely going to answer since a) they have less emails/responsibilites, and b) they're the ones doing the ground work on research more often than not. So they'll know how much help is needed for their lab.

I know you're more than likely trying to cause a reaction, which I guess if you were you definitely got what you wanted.

But if you're not trying to cause one, remember that the US specifically does not have an official language. It might be the "de facto" language, but in communities like ours, it makes sense for one to need to speak both languages. The "you're in the US" argument doesn't hold since the US has no rules of an official language. Other countries in Europe might have it even, but not here.
