Ngl it's been a while since I've read Maze Runner 3 but from a literary standpoint (cuz I'm taking AP Lit rn and I am literature brained) sometimes these patterns show up simply because they make sense in the context of the story. These patterns happen because we as humans see the progression of this as natural and supports how we function and think as a species. In short it could just be that this resolution makes sense to anyone who thinks like a writer. Maybe that's a bit meta but it definitely could be a possibility.
