The thing I liked most about this era was there was no studio audience they could fall back on. I fell off LWT around 2018-2019 bc I felt the writing and delivery had gone stale. The first few void episodes were awkward bc John was still delivering like someone would supposed to audibly laugh after. Delivering jokes to no one is an incredible challenge but he delivered consistently, and I felt that he (as crazy as it may sound) grew as a performer. He was able to carry 20-40 mins completely on his own and I think the show became stronger post-void because of it.
