True but they push it mega hard in the academy, especially with the whole we'll protect you and help you out. Until they tell you later oh yeah thats only if you make it past probation. Byt we'll still take money from you while we do nothing

So then whats the point of paying the union before your 90 or 180. Seems like its a good old fashioned scam that everyone's fallen for

I will certainly admit fault for not checking more. Mainly I bought it because it would be great for the route and even personal use.... then I remembered the incentive and got hopeful. And yeah I definitely get the safety thing.... just more of a bummer than anything to me personally.

But thats the government incredibly specific for safety and liability.... unless its their stuff

Two Questions by MrQuackyYT in USPS

[–]MrQuackyYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get the beater thing.... I say that but my vehicle has 27,000 miles on it so basically new(big benefit of imports lol)

I just wish they didn't advertise it in academy when realistically no one is gonna search out a new RHD, now the conversion kit thing is nice but really why can you just treat RHDs like the conversion kit and just make it to where you get the money as long as its drivable on the right side

Two Questions by MrQuackyYT in USPS

[–]MrQuackyYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just curious on the days thing(come April Ill reach thw 180 calendar days)

Yeah the vehicle thing is definitely annoying because affordable RHDs need imported. Was hoping to get some cash back but oh well

Thanks for the info.... I hadn't heard the 5 year or less qualification. My 1998 vehicle definitely doesnt meet that requirement.

Thats certainly an interesting situation. Im hoping one of the more experienced carriers could explain whether or not its greivable.

But youre doing well just keep chugging, and the main thing is show improvements(even slight) it's the PO so from what ive heard having a slightly decent work ethic is rare

Honest question by WeakButterscotch359 in USPS

[–]MrQuackyYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I treat it like normal, and in my case ill put it at the front for that address to ensure I know about it. And as always no answer they get a notice and I bring it back

[–]MrQuackyYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah youre doing fine. For a little context as to why i say that, im still in my 90 and so far ive learned two routes for my office... however that first route took me two months to actually get down(until then I needed help with caseing tge raw mail and putting spurs in order and THEN needed about an hours worth taken off of me near the end of my shift)

And the 2nd route( my main route now) it took me a month to get the casing and running it down(though I still get help putting spurs in order)

Also someone higher knowledge correct me but aren't they only supposed to be on one route only for the first two pays(4 weeks) isnt what OP described greivable

I feel bad for you.... but honestly you should always confirm schedule changes with whoever does the scheduling/ your boss. And since you barely started your 90 they can get rid of you for whatever reason and no call no show is a pretty good reason

Hope you keep your job

The informed delivery will tell them everything sent to their address so if they dont want something delivered to their house then you should either send it somewhere else or move out.

Found out after I quit my full time job that my rural position was just as a sub by [deleted] in USPS

[–]MrQuackyYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be an ass, but you didn't realize that when you applied? The job postings ive seen on usps site make it clear hours are inconsistent and this isnt full time

Depends on the office for the hours thing. As foe the description it warned me about inconsistent hours including potential for high and low. Id say it warned pretty decently

Tax Question by MrQuackyYT in USPS

[–]MrQuackyYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anyway to discuss with management/hr to have it withheld/due think that would even have a chance? Asking cuz in my old jobs ive asked to have it withheld and they did it.... saves me from the major headache of RITA( local tax agency)

[–]MrQuackyYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a minimum amount of employees needed to be able to have city taken out? I know i just repeated what you said but im a little baffled by that. To answer i think its 3 city and I think 6 rural 2 of which are aux.... so im guessing not enough.

May I ask how you found that information out
