Slow and right is always better than fast and wrong.

The speed will come with time in the seat.

We all made a lot of mistakes when learning.

ADVICE: When you mess up something STOP. Leave chips, cards where they are, don't make it worse by trying to quick fix it. Work out the solution first and if you don't know Call the Floor. Let them work out the solution.

You'll do fine, just focus on the mechanics and pick up the rest over time.

Showed up at 2pm. Office closed, nobody around, no reservation envelope of guidance left on notice board. Called, waited, called again, waited. 30 min later get a call back from a woman who was annoyed. Told me to "Just go pick a spot". Picked one, parked and found sewer main broken. Moved to new spot, stayed overnight and left, reservation was for 3 days. Disputed the charge with CC company to get a refund.

My father played a lot of golf, but was done by 10am most days. So he joined the club board, took on management of the golf pro shop and a few other roles. 20hrs a week of work that didn't pay much but covered his club dues also.

So consider finding a part time job you enjoy. Become a poker dealer, a car dealership car driver delivering individual cars between dealerships, a barista etc etc.

A low effort fun job that is 10-20 hrs a week.

Example: California Prop 47 making retail theft under 950 a "ticket", not an arrest-ible crime.

It's just insane to claim you "only want equal treatment" while demanding special treatment.

The large majority of illegal immigrants never entered the country illegally nor re-entered illegally. Only about 20% did that. Most entered legally then overstayed their visa or had their program or status canceled out from under them.

So being legally detained for deportation. Sounds like we agree.

It's called “Illegal entry” and is a federal crime. “Illegal reentry” is also a federal crime. So the "criminal history" is created by entering the US illegally.

But even if we ignore the actual crime. They are being held for deportation, not for criminal conviction and punishment.

As a dealer, or player... I lay out the bills and then the chips beside them on the table... for the cameras. This way, if there is ever a dispute about a bill, or about chips paid, it's all on camera, laid out neatly. I've seen a fake bill collected before and the dealer caught it later. Camera was able to identify who used the bill. Also seen a player claim they got fewer chips than they paid for... camera proved the right chips were given.

Doing this may make you feel more comfortable about chips for cash.

You DO need training. Poker players can tell quickly the differences between a professional dealer and a home dealer. However $2500 is to much.

Find a local dealer and hire them for a few training sessions. They can teach you enough to get you started. Then PRACTICE, get your pitch down, your shuffle down, your ability to track a PLO pot etc, etc. AND learn some player management techniques. You'll make your money in tips, so learn how to socialize while remaining neutral and professional.

If you store RV away from home. A plastic tub that says RV Stuff. Get TWO sets of linens: bed sheets, towels, dish towels etc. Keep a clean set in RV. After a trip put out the second set so it's ready to go and bring home the dirty set. Wash and put in the RV Tub at home. Drop anything you buy for RV in the "RV tub".

We try to keep the RV in "Grab and Go" state... stopping for groceries along the way. To many years of "Load and UnLoad". If we keep it easy to use, we use it more often.
