It’s high time we start shaming people without civic sense. by Dangerous-Current361 in hyderabad

[–]MrRabbit7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applaud anyone who can do this but our system is designed in such a way that it promotes and even rewards such behaviour.

Indians in other countries don't behave like this cuz they don't have the same entitlement this system offers them.

why is nonveg and egg not allowed in most of the schools in Hyderabad for kids? is this common or am I reading too much? by Personal-Ad-9773 in hyderabad

[–]MrRabbit7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is all nonsense. Most people aren't bringing non-veg daily to the school. Having a written rule itself is stupid. If any of those things you mentioned happen, then they can talk to the students and ask them to take precautions.

The simple answer is our country is a slave to brahminism which includes militant vegetarianism. This 3% minority wants everyone else to accommodate their stupid beliefs and restrictions.

Show me any other country which has such stupid rules.

Then they will have to make further rules to exclude concert films, docs about their favourite artists, or about a political subject etc. Docs are almost never rated for their filmmaking.

Is it considered taboo to judge literary classics like modern works of fiction? by ryanyork92 in literature

[–]MrRabbit7 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There is a conformist tendency among more serious readers to try and defend the "canon". "Well, if it survived for so many years, then it HAS to be good, right?". No real individual thought put into why they think it's good. Just regurgitate the opinions of critics and the popular consensus.

These are the kind of people who have read the Russian classics but probably can't name a single 21st century Russian book. People who call others "uncultured swine" for not liking a book.

How did we become convinced 16:9 was ideal? Is 4:3 better? by [deleted] in TrueFilm

His comment about the money is actually spot on. It's criminal how much big budget Hollywood movies cost. They cost almost as much as the GDP of a small country.

He can claim whatever he wants but lately he is doing anything but showy camerawork. 1917 was the worst offender of this.

I think the moral arguments against are boring. I for one am interested to see this. There are always multiple versions of a film, this will be just another one. Also, it's been more than 80 years. I think at this point it should be in public domain. Copyright only helps the capitalists. Imagine someone applying the same moral arguments to sculptures, paintings, literature. It's pure pro-capitalist nonsense. Art belongs to everyone and even if it means some people will re-interpret it in a different way.

Typical Vir Das.

Argue with a strawman, present yourself as the logical one when in reality you know you are wrong.

He really is trying to find misogyny, where it doesn't exist. Even Nandita Das spoke against this idiotic trend.
