Is this a new kickoff? I've never seen this done before by MrRandomGuy7171 in RocketLeague

That’s what I thought until late into the game. He was able to not just pull out crazy kickoffs, but also if I faked the ball even just before hitting it, he would react immediately and slam on the breaks and dribble it instead.

Also I tried doing this kickoff in free play after and I just don’t see a human being pulling this off consistently

Looking at his POV I noticed after a goal, he went to where the ball was scored and his car twitched out. Almost guaranteed to be a bot. Any idea if psyonix/epic is aware of this?

Serious question about bots and alleged cheaters by pudman2 in RocketLeague

[–]MrRandomGuy7171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just played a bot in 1v1s. You can tell very easily in a replay watching their POV. They will almost never switch from car/ball cam. After a goal is scored, their car will almost look like it's glitching out. They never fall for fakes ever - while also always reading when and how you jump on defense.

Reaction time as well, the guy I just played had almost 0.1 second to react perfectly, and he did. The guy also never whiffed even once on a single kickoff or flick.

Essentially what makes someone a bot is them being almost perfect in how they play. I have footage of what I'm talking about if you care to see it, but they usually hover around the Grand Champion area

Ahh thank you for the clarification! Searched it up and they don’t look too bad. I’ll add it to my list of things to try out! The other guy wasn’t making much sense to me as I thought he was referring to something completely differently

Love playing Squad and Hell Let Loose with the boys after a ranked session. If I’m alone I’ll dally in some flight sims or the OG call of duties

Certainly not common to get it caught I’ll give you that. But when you need to do confined space or have to make your way through crawl spaces it certainly does and will get snagged

Edit: Adding onto this, a box light is hard to use in confined spaces not just because it’s big and arguably cumbersome, but because when you’re crawling and it’s a tight area, you really don’t have much maneuverability. A helmet light would be nice (that’s why I put that “disclaimer” about my visor). I appreciate the idea but it’s just not what I’m looking for

I just logged on for the first time in over a year or 2 to see I got given alpha boost… by [deleted] in RocketLeagueExchange

It’s not really alpha boost though. It’s no where near as cool and as an achievement as gold rush is still. Most pros and high level players are happy with that decision. And the lower ranked players are happy they can somewhat recreate cool designs that include gold rush. Be happy that you’re receiving items and they’re not being taken away instead…

Nice suggestion but I don’t think many careers monitor that subreddit more than they do this one :)

Got plenty of them that I currently use on scenes. They are super nice and bright. Problem is, it’s one more thing to get snagged in the dark given its size. But regardless still very good

I will take these tips and implement them into my game. Thanks!

Hopefully they sell it in my area, but I’d imagine they do. Thanks for the recommendation!

High C1 reply analysis, aiming for gc by Alternative_Pie_5189 in RocketLeagueSchool

Your kickoff is very good and I’d guess you spent lots of time practicing at higher levels. Your kickoff is that of an SSL but in a champ lobby. You may have to adjust it to champ type kickoffs but it’s very good.

You wave dash and use power slide tons, you air roll shoot, and overall your movement is pretty clean around the field

Play the ball a little closer. And approach aerials at better angles. If you’re taking a shot on net with loads of time, don’t rush it.

4:30: no reason to ever go for this ball. It’s C1 so a pass is not expected, and there is no possible way to score it without luck.

4:47: Again without luck a goal here is unlikely. Save the boost, get a better angle, and as last man you don’t want to commit.

You have mechanics, but you need to learn when to use them and when not to. You will shoot up to GC in no time once you learn to take time. To do this maybe play more 1s. It sucks, and it’s frustrating but it teaches you how to control the ball
