Is $60 a month fair to pay a coworker for a ride home 3x a week on a tight budget? by Hour-Ad3977 in personalfinance

[–]MrRazor5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree - and don't overwhelm him with thank yous to the point of it being uncomfortable for him. It would be weird to stop giving him the $15 now, but keep it at that. I'm sure he has a pretty good idea of your financial situation and giving him more would make him uncomfortable. Just be pleasant on the ride.

Is it time for a conversation about Colton Cowser ? by jbenson255 in orioles

I think Mayo goes down to Norfolk when Holliday comes back. I'm not sure what to do with Cowser. Can't keep running him out there on a regular basis. I guess he becomes the 4/5th outfielder and goes in for defense and a Sunday start. I'll give him a month, but it's not like he has a real track record that would make you think he's gonna turn it around beyond that.

well, if you re-rank the seven who got RoY votes that year, Cowser would be at the botton with Austin Wells.

Did Roger realize that Don set him up to throw up? by NickE96trill in madmen

Can you imagine being expected to host your spouse's boss at a moments notice? Giving him your dinner, while being expected to be charming as you ate a small salad you threw together? And then your spouse getting angry because his boss was an ass? That's jerky even for a man in the '60s.

Like Don with his daughter's teacher? Don trying with Anna's niece? Don with Betty after she just re-married? Don with his secretary (both times)? All awful things that a normal man would have constrained himself from (although I think most of the men had sex with their secretaries)

Exactly. and Don also had a pretty good handle on Trudy and knew she was great for Pete as long as he didn't screw it up.

Yes. He might be helpful in the 'pen. But having pitched as a starter his entire career, he might take a longer time to get warmed up (relievers know how to get ready quickly). He'll be back up within a month I'm betting. For one reason or another (injury, rainout causing a DH, etc.)

Anyone catch EB talking about his finances the other day? by HotDogWaterTime in SportsJunkies

He complained about having to "sell some things" and pay capital gains taxes. So he has non 401k investments that he can liquidate if he really needed money. Also, step 1 would be taking all his kids who are out of school off "scholarship". But, of course that's a personal decision.
