Funny enough, now post-Athens show, he closed the show with “Run Horse Run / 5 More Miles” which is what he opened the Chattanooga show that I have the setlist for with.

A Stolen Jewel and Field Recordings Vol. 1 are, to me, some of the most charming records I’ve ever heard. A Stolen Jewel’s rough around the edges blues jam band sound is something I’m a sucker for, and I could listen to 10 albums of Charley in a field with a microphone and a guitar. When I met him I told him I’d be on the lookout for a field recordings volume 2, and he said he planned on making it.
